  • Roland’s first polyphonic analog synthesizer launched the JUPITER legacy of best-in-class sound and cutting-edge innovation. Along with its incredible synthesis power, the JUPITER-4 brought digital voltage control and the ability to store eight user presets with new technological wizardry dubbed Compuphonic.
  • But the real magic was in grabbing the panel controls and designing big, beautiful tones, which led synth pioneers to create timeless tracks that continue to influence musicians today.

  • Roland uses its proprietary circuit modeling technology to bring the JUPITER-4 to life in your DAW or SYSTEM-8.
  • The ACB process involves carefully analyzing original hardware units, circuit diagrams, and other historical data. Roland then uses this information to recreate the authentic circuit behaviors of the vintage instrument, including all the beloved quirks and instabilities.

  • While the JUPITER-4 plug-in carefully models an instrument from the past, the implementation here is thoroughly modern.
  • The plug-in version features enhancements that take the original's sonic powers to another level, including extended oscillator range, adjustable noise, velocity sensitivity, sub-oscillator volume control, and a flexible arpeggiator.
  • In addition to perfectly modeling the JUPITER-4’s lush Ensemble chorus, Roland has added a slew of new effects, including phaser, flanger, overdrive, reverb, and delay.
  • And it fits perfectly into your production environment with a resizable high-definition UI, support for VST3, AAX, and AU formats, and Apple silicon compatibility.

  • Vintage synths like the JUPITER-4 hardware had internal trim controls that allowed technicians to tweak various analog components when they drifted out of spec. But sometimes tweaking out-of-spec created a sound that was unique, interesting, or extraordinary.
  • Realized through Roland's latest ACB advancements, the new Circuit Mod function lets you sweep through multiple trims using a single macro control. Along with the Condition parameter, which simulates the effects of aging, you can dial in everything from a factory-primed JUPITER-4 to a road-worn synth that hasn’t seen a tech bench in decades.

  • The sophisticated browser lets you explore the JUPITER-4’s stunning collection of factory presets, your own custom sounds, and patches downloaded from Roland Cloud.
  • Search across all installed patch banks, sort results, rate your favorites, jot down notes, and make quick adjustments with the integrated tweak panel.

  • The JUPITER-4 Software Synthesizer offers full integration with the SYSTEM-8 keyboard. You can change the JUPITER-4’s plug-in panel to match the SYSTEM-8 for intuitive, one-to-one control.
  • Or use the PLUG-OUT functionality to turn your SYSTEM-8 into a standalone eight-voice JUPITER-4 that you can play in the studio or onstage.

  • The Lifetime Key system provides an evolving service that includes free lifetime updates, cloud-based mobility with installation for up to five devices, plus access to current Test Drive promotions of instruments and patch collections.
  • A Lifetime Key is a cloud-based authorization for Roland Cloud instruments. Roland Cloud Membership and Lifetime Keys are managed through an online ID called a Roland Account.
  • A free Roland Account is required to access Roland Cloud Manager and will periodically connect to the internet to authorize your Membership and/or Lifetime Keys.
  • Lifetime Key is active as long as your Roland account is active—even if you’re not a paying member.

Q: 1. hi there! does it work with the black magic pocket cinema camera hdmi output? Im thinking about webcast using my bmpcc...

A: Hi, when I was presented with this question from B&H, I fired up both my V-1HD and BMD Pocket Cinema camera with impression that it'll only work in 1080p mode. But surprisingly, both 1080p & 1080i modes work without issues.

Q: 2. how do i broadcast in youtube with this?

A: You need to encode the Roland's output so you can get it into your computer. Once in the computer, the video will mount on your desktop. Then open YouTube and select your video stream and you are on your way. Please see the attached for a recommended encoder, the Magewell XI100DUSB HDMI USB 3.0 Capture Dongle.

Q: 3. Does this switcher include the remote control software?

A: Yes it does. This switcher will include the V-1SDI RCS dedicated computer software, which is compatible for both Mac and PC.

Q: 4. Is it possible to chain these units together, to get more video inputs?

A: Not ideal, but you can, one unit will be you're master unit and you basically connect the output of you're slave units in to the master unit. A little crazy but .....

Q: 5. Does the V1-HD accept both PAL and NTSC signals?

A: Yes it does, this can be set for either PAL or NTSC signals.

Q: 6. The only allowable input formats are 60fps at 1080i, 1080p or 720p? Any device having lower FPS attributes will not be seen by the V-1HD? Also, if I had a device that outputs 720p and another device that outputs 1080p, can they both connect to the V-1HD simultaneously?

A: The V-1HD can mix between 1080I and 1080p only. In the 720p mode all HDMI sources must be 720p. Sorry, but the V-1HD will not work with any formats like 480i/P - you can use one of the Roland Multi-Format mixers like the Roland V-40HD.You can however select a output format to be 720p, 1080i or 1080p at all times to downscale or upscale.

Q: 7. How do you mix the audio? If I have 3 HDSDI signals coming in and RCA L/R from an external mixer How do I control the levels?

A: You will be able to mix the audio from the video inputs and the RCA audio inputs using the V-1SDI RCS dedicated computer software that comes with this product. The software allows you to connect the V-1SDI to either a Mac or PC through a USB cable. From there you will be able to control the switcher and you'll be given a digital mixing board for the audio.

Q: 8. Is the case attached?

A: A case would be included with this panel.

Q: 9. Will this switcher feed hdmi imbedded audio to a device like an Epiphan Webcaster X2?

A: Yes, Audio and Video are available on the HDMI output. You can attach the switcher via USB to a computer (I use a SurfacePro and with the correct software, you will have an audio mixer for the video switcher.

Q: 10. Does this switcher and cameras used with it need to be genlocked?

A: I use canon XA20 HF M500 HF R600 HF R500 AND SOME OTHERS
