Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the attachments that come in the box to attach the strap to the bottom of the camera? It doesn't say anything in the box . Im looking forward to your prompt reply. Thanks.

A: Most of us have trips mounts attached to the bottom of our cameras. It is designed to slip between the camera body and tripod mount and then tighten your tripod mount down to the camera once adjusted so that it is comfortable.

Q: 2. Does this work for the Canon EOS R?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the EOS R.

Q: 3. Do you have to remove the plate from the tripod socket of the camera to attach to a tripod or is there a tripod socket on the plate as well?

A: There are several 1/4 -20 threaded sockets that you can connect this plate either directly to a tripod head, or to another tripod quick release plate.

Q: 4. Will this hand strap work with the really right stuff L plates for both body only and with the battery grip attached on a Sony A9ii?. I connect the camera via the arca swiss type connection.

A: Yes the Peak Design CL-3 Clutch Camera Hand Strap can be used with an RRS L bracket attached to your camera.

Q: 5. Does this work on a Nikon Z9 with the Kirk L-Plate?

A: No. The Nikon z9 offers strap eyelets. The following strap will not pass through.

Q: 6. Does it work with a L plate attached to the camera ( canon 5d mark 1v)?

A: If your L-bracket has a standard 1/4"-20 female tripod thread connector on the bottom of the L-bracket, then yes, you may connect the Peak Design CL-3 Clutch Camera Hand Strap (B&H # PECL3) to your L-bracket. However, do note that you will have to remove the hand strap once you plan to use the camera and its L-bracket on your tripod head.

Q: 7. What is the load capacity of each individual holster? I see the Black Widow suggests a 1kg limit and the Single Camera System suggests it is For Pro Cameras 5 lb and Up but I have found no rating for the dual camera system. I'd like to know if this is a viable solution for high mobility while lugging around a couple heavy camera and super telephoto lens combinations.

A: Each individual holster for the SpiderPro Dual Camera System can hold pro-body DSLR and lens combinations of five pounds and up. When using the dual system, it is advised to keep a shorter lens on one of the bodies for optimal comfort. An alternative option to the Spider Holster System would be the Peak Design CapturePRO, which can withstand up to 200 pounds and is a quick release system that will attach to any belt or strap: http://bhpho.to/1cmLndX

Q: 8. Would this work well with a Sony A7Rii? I saw one reply about an X-T1 working with it, but people seem to complain it is a bit big to be comfortable with a Nikon D600 which is bigger than a Sony A7/Fuji X-T1.

A: Hi Andrew,Thank you for your question. As you may know, the XT-1 has the shutter right atop on the camera body, which makes it very difficult for ANY hand strap to work.. The SONY shutter is more in-line with pro dslr in terms of shutter position, and so will benefit from that, as the Spider HS was designed for PRO bodies. We think the sony A7Rii should work with the current Spider strap especially using it's vertical grip (the cam body is very small for handling, as you most likely know already). Spider is working hard on a hand strap solution that will be designed specifically and will accommodate all mirrorless cameras. hope this helps, thank you, S

Q: 9. Can this be used with the Fuji XT1 ?

A: Yes this can be used with the Fujifilm XT-1. You would just need a plate to go on the bottom of the camera where the strap will go in between.

Q: 10. Does it get longer of its own accord? I have an Eagle Optics (R.I.P.) harness that has stretched considerably in its 6-year life. The straps also tend to slip through the adjustment buckle, so the nocs hang lower.

A: The newer type of fabric should keep stretching to a very minimum in the Nikon ProStaff Suspender Harness Binocular Strap for many years to come.
