A: It has a D ring that can be tightened by hand as well as a slot for a coin or screw driver.

A: I would say no. The RRS arca Swiss mount on my camera is 1.500 wide and this plate is 1.646 wide. Also the angle on this plate is more vertical than the angle of the arca swiss locking groove. However this plate will mount will attach to my arca mount giving me the option of running the lighter vanguard tripod instead of my heavy arca tripod. On the up side, this plate is really inexpensive allowing you try it out without a lot of loss. Your arca clamp may get wide enough to grip it, but my first thoughts are still gonna be no.

Q: 3. Would I need to buy a quick release plate or does the head come with one? In the picture it looks like one is included.

A: The quick release plate is included. You do not need to buy it.

Q: 4. Does this work with Nikon Monarch 7 (8*30)? What's the width/length of the mounting plate at the bottom?

A: Item Dimensions LxWxH 5.2 x 6.1 x 1.4 inches It dose not have a mounting plate. The bottom just has a 1/4"-20 screw hole to mount onto ant tripod head.

A: Its a standard tripod screw and fits most cameras as these things are designed to be universal

A: The QS-36 is compatible with the Vanguard Alta CA 204AGH Aluminum Tripod with Pistol Grip Head, yes.

Q: 8. Can this pole be used in salt water? We need to submerge the GoPro beneath the water from a boat for footage of an aquatic BMP.

A: I would say yes if care is taken to completely rinse off the salt water after use. The two sections that slide together are very snug. It makes for a solid pole however if dried salt was in there it would make it hard for the pole to easily extend.

Q: 9. I have a Maxell tripod. I measured the opening at 41x41mmtwo sides are beveled and two are not. Will this fit? Didn't see any dimensions on the site.

A: Just measured mine. It is perfectly square, 1 5/8 on the bottom, 1 2/8 on the top. It is 3/8 deep from top to bottom. It has a small pin to secure a camcorder. I don't use the pin, so I covered it with a piece of tape. The part is well-made. I should add that I got mine with a Vanguard ball head which I don't recommend. The head doesn't lock anymore after just a couple years of very sparse use. No matter how much you tighten it, it slips.I was in B&H yesterday, and the store copy was the same! Looked nice, good value, didn't hold up. So no more Vanguard for me. But the plate should be OK, just keep a coin around to attach it to the camera. Hope this helps!

A: I think, VT-726 such a model which is no longer available and QS-36 plate is mountable on new models only. If you don't want to change your tripod,just change the new model heads that QS-36 mountable. So you can continiue to use the legs of old tripod. Once I did the same with my old Slik, kept the legs and changed the head with a new model. Many tripods have 3/8 screw to hold the heads in place.
