Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the maximum BD supported? B5, BD9 or BDXL?

A: BD5 and BD9 are older terms and technologies that haven't much lived on. Please see below for the current specs used on Blu-Ray Burners: Blu-Ray Read Speed BD-R (SL, DL, TL, QL, LTH): 6x BD-RE (SL, DL): 6x BD-RE (TL): 4x BD-ROM (SL, DL): 6x Blu-Ray Write Speed BD-R (SL, DL, LTH): 6x BD-R (TL, QL): 4x BD-RE (SL, DL, TL): 2x

Q: 2. Does the window enable me to look through the viewfinder?

A: Yes the window does allow one to look through the viewfinder of their DSLR.

Q: 3. Can this be used with Canon 6D? I mean whether the screw is compatible with the size for tripod mount on Canon 6D. Thanks!

A: Yes

Q: 4. What kind of tripod would you recommend mounting this to? I need to get a tripod that will allow me to shoot overhead. I primarily use a 50mm lens. Any help/advice on which product(s) to get would be much appreciated!

A: Any tripod that is tall enough to extend above you, preferably with as little adjustment of the center column as possible. Having a sandbag on a the weight hook under the column (or a clamp weight, in the absence of a hook) will also help immensely. Both of these things will allow you to keep the center of gravity low. And of course, you also want the tripod to be able to support the total weight of your setup. Depending on the height you need, either of these two tripods could be considered:B&H # MA058B ? Mfr # 058BB&H # MA161MK2B ? Mfr # 161MK2B

Q: 5. Are any cables included in the box?

A: This monitor includes the power cable and HDMI cable for video.

Q: 6. I use and 3228w bogan manfritto tripod, is this compatible with this tripod? Thanks

A: The side arm extension fits on my Bogan tripod. At first I thought it would be a problem because there is a large hole for an oversized stud to mount on the tripod. The center mount is adaptable to large or small studs. You can mount it on almost any tripod. The same is true on the extended arms. A small or large stud comes with the unit to again mount almost anything on the arms. What does not come with the unit is a counterweight to go on the opposite arm. You can move the counterweight anywhere on the arm to help keep the center of gravity centered at the top of the tripod.

Q: 7. what tripod would work well with this?

A: I use this with a Manfrotto 055XDB tripod with a Manfrotto 498 ball head. I suggest a fairly sturdy tripod since extending the sidearm with a camera will put more imbalance than you might think. I also suggest a tripod whose legs can be adjusted for a wider stance as needed (that is, the legs can open wider than just one position). This is especially needed for shorter setups such as shooting down at something close to the ground where the leg length is not fully extended. The wider leg stance allows for more extension. Hanging a counter weight on the end of the arm that doesn't hold your camera would also work (keeping the center of gravity over the center of the tripod), but this adds overall load the tripod must bear.

Q: 8. All of the Pioneer DVD players/burners I own are Region Free natively (no need to hack anything). Is this player Region Free? I have DVD's from all around the world and I don't want to have to deal with a computer player that can not play DVD's/BD's from any region.

A: Yes, this player/writer has region protection. After using it multiple times on a specific region it would lock to the corresponding location.

Q: 9. Will it work on a Mac?

A: No. Currently this is not compatible with Mac.

Q: 10. Can 2 of these be attached end to end for a longer reach?

A: Both ends have male attachments and they are different sizes. Even if you could attach them together you wouldn't get a strong attachment, so the camera would wobble. Plus it would place the weight so far out of the center of gravity that the tripod would fall over.

Best light I own! The light is extremely bright and clean. The ability to use either the focus beam or the wider flood makes the light very versatile. With the rechargeable battery I never have to worry about having batteries when I need them. The only thing I would change would be make the low power mode the default and the second press the high power mode. When you are in low light and you hit the high power mode first you get a quick bright flash before you get to the low power light but that is a trivial inconvenience. Thanks Coast for continuing to make great innovative lights!
