Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this flash able to utilize HSS?

A: Yes, the HVL-F46RM has HSS capabilities.

A: According to Sony's website, it is not listed as being compatible.

Q: 3. Can you be more specific about differences between F45 and F46? Such as ability to rotate flash head?

A: The HVL-46RM does not have a tremendous amount of differences from its predecessor. The ability to rotate the flash head remains the same (180-degrees right and left, 150-degrees up), but the main differences are recycle time (from 2.5 to 1.7 seconds), better heat management (in both the 46RM and 60RM) as well as a increase in guide number from 45 to 46m at ISO100 105mm.

Q: 4. Does this work with the hvl f60m without the additional purchase of the FA RRW1 flsah receiver or do i need to buy the receiver too ? I have the sony A9 Thanks in advance

A: You still need the receiver as well. On the plus side, you can use a lot of receivers with just the one transmitter.

Q: 6. two questions: What is the upgrade difference between this 2nd generation and the first generation? Can this use a HV connection for external battery pack (non AA batteries)?

A: The HVL-F60RM2 differs from the original in that it now offers faster performance at 200 consecutive flashes when shooting at 10 FPS with select Sony Alpha cameras. The Sony FA-EBA1 External Battery Pack, BH # SOFAEBA1 would be a compatible option aside from the AA batteries needed inside of the flash. https://bhpho.to/3nkC3pc
