Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this adapter compatible with the BMPCC 6K Pro?

A: No, the Wooden Camera PL Lens Mount Adapter for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera is not compatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro.

Q: 2. does it keep focus in the infinity ?

A: The adapter is factory calibrated for infinity focus and comes with a set of shims, so you can dial in the adapter specifically for your camera.

Q: 3. Will this work on a BMCC?

A: In theory if you have a BMCC with micro four thirds mount this mount should work...the issue is that the sensor size between the two cameras Is different, The Cinema camera is bigger. I think you need to do a practical test on the matter.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with this cameras & batteries: Arri alexa mini, red monstro,helium, epic,scarlet,komodo, canon c200.c500 ii,1Dx Mark iii,5D mark iv,Sony A7iii, Panasonic S1H / D&O lighting 190Wh, Soonwell 230Wh, Neewer, Maxoak???

A: This will work with any V-Mount battery. However the various cameras listed may have different power needs. Some may need a V-Mount directly mounted on to the, others specific cables. There is no V-Mount battery plate ready to work with all cameras.

Q: 5. Is there a focal reduction factor?

A: Hi Christopher. Our PL Mount adapter is engineered to the industry standard PL flange depth of 52mm, so sensor coverage is entirely dictated by the rear element of your lens. For instance, if you are using a Super 35mm lens in Full Frame Mode on your camera you may not cover the sensor and will need to shoot in crop mode. Older 35mm format lenses such as standard and super speeds are less likely to cover the sensor than newer lenses such as Zeiss CP.2 or Canon Cine Primes.

Q: 6. Does this adapter have built-in aperture control electronics (like this: https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1174582-REG/metabones_mb_spef_bmpcc_bt1_metabones_canon_ef_lens.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1174582-REG/metabones_mb_spef_bmpcc_bt1_metabones_canon_ef_lens.html/a)?

A: Andre,Our PL Mount Adapter does not include any internal electronics so you will not have built in aperture control. Most PL Lenses do not require or use aperture controls and will only transfer meta data information. The product you linked is an EF adapter, not PL.

Q: 7. Wooden Camera's fx3/fx30 top plate has two 1/4 20 screw holes that appear to be for this PL adapter. Is this the case? Or is there another adapter/adapter for this fx3/30 purpose?

A: No, the Wooden Camera PL-Mount To E-Mount Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Sony FX6 does not line up with the screw holes on the Wooden Camera Cheese-Style Top Plate for Sony FX3/FX30.

Q: 8. Does the plate have enough clearance if you use in tandem with IDX 98 BP-U batteries?

A: This is for one V mount battery.

Q: 9. will Cannon DSLR lens's attach to this?

A: No you cannot attach a DSLR lens as the mounts are different. This is a PL mount adaptor what you have to look for is Canon EF adaptor for Black magic

Q: 10. Does this PL adaptor accept mounting support from underneath? Or is the only method of support by using the Wooden Camera Top Plate for FX6?

A: The Wooden Camera PL-Mount To E-Mount Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Sony FX6's only included lens support is the Ring Collar Support, which mounts directly to the Wooden Camera Top Plate for FX6. If you do not have the Wooden Camera Top Plate for FX6 you would have to support the lens via an alternative lens support system.

I'll keep it simple. I'm a hack photographer, and I won't even begin to pretend. My strategy is to marry a solid body with good lenses, read a couple of books, tweak the settings, and hope for the best. Decided on this upgrade to improve my pic's of the kids playing sports...lacrosse and soccer primarily. Compared with the D90, this body helps me get at least one good shot for every sequence I try to capture. Prior it was maybe 1 in 3. Part of it is using the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 lens (also a highly recommended upgrade). But mostly this body offers double the fps, so I miss far fewer shots due to simple timing. And the additional pixels allow me enough space to tweak composition if necessary, without ending up with too much granularity.

It's taken me some hunting around to find the companion setting locations, and to adapt to the differences in the controls. Not quite second nature yet, but it'll come in time. It's not bad...just different.

All in all, I'm quite happy with my choice. Great balance of performance and cost, while allowing me to use the glass I already had.

I recently upgraded from a D5600 to the D500. This is an excellent camera! The ergonomics are great, and the camera just feels good in my hands, especially compared to the much smaller D5600. The D500 is heavier, but feels very balanced when used with super-telephoto lenses - not as front-heavy (weighed down by the lens) as the D5600. It focuses very quickly and precisely, even on birds in flight. My favorite lens, the Nikon 200-500mm, is much faster on the D500. I would highly recommend this camera!

this is my 2nd camera b/c i'm using with each camera different Nikon lenses: Nikon 300F4 and Nikon 18 -300mm.
This is much yesier insted of changing lenses each time. There is never enough time to change lenses.

Finally upgraded from my years old D7000. Although the D500 came out in 2016, it is still relevant today. Great at high ISO and superb autofocus. Although it was out of stock for a long time, B&H finally came through. Fast shipping and great service as always.

I love this thing. No more silly settings for absolute beginners like my D3300. Tons of customizable settings & buttons. The 10 fps is awesome. Auto focus is awesome. It's still a great camera in 2022.

I debated for a while between what camera to upgrade to - did I want to go the next-newest prosumer? Did I want to go to full-frame? Or did I want to make the jump to mirrorless?
After a lot of back and forth, weighing pros and cons, I came across the D500 - a perfect mixture. A more pro-level camera body, still with the crop sensor so I would not lose the lenses I currently own or have to fight with an adapter to get them to work with another body type. Not to mention the very reasonable price!

In the short time I have had the camera, I have already had a number of shoots and the results have been absolutely amazing. A rather large step up from my previous Nikon body, with more available manual choices. Definitely a good choice for those looking to get more pro-level options with their body but not wanting to sacrifice the crop sensor. Only minor downside is compared to a mirrorless, the D500 is on the heavy side.

While some MILCs might be marginally better at BIF, they are also far more expensive. AF response and tracking, frame rate and buffer depth are unmatched at this price point. Outstanding Nikon ergonomics and IQ. In short supply, but it was worth the wait.
