A: This answer has been updated: No this will not work with the A77. The FA-WRC1M is only compatible with the A7 II, A7R II, A7S II using the most current firmware.

A: Hi Jarrod, it depends on the shooting situation/requirement. The HVLF60M flash can be mounted directly on a compatible Sony camera without the FA-WRR1. -Anthony

A: This receiver cannot be used to trigger a Nikon speedlight.
Q: 8. Does this fire with the electronic shutter vs mechanical? Wanting to remote fire a second camera while using electronic shutter. Been having to use the multi-control port with a rigged cable.
A: The FA-WRC1M Wireless Radio Commander is only capable of firing an RM type Sony flash with the camera set to use its mechanical shutter.
Q: 9. Does it work in Rear flash Mode? With HSS?
A: That is a very new system from Sony and from the information we currently have it does not support rear curtain sync in general.
Q: 10. What are the best Sony flashes? Which receiver works with this transmitter?
A: A great Sony flash to use with this radio commander is the Sony HVL-F60M, B&H # SOHVLF60M as it has a high guide number. Please note that you would also need the Sony FA-WRR1 Wireless Radio Receiver B&H # SOFAWRR1 which fits on the bottom of the flash to receive the signal. Please see the images for reference.
