Three layers of antireflection coatings provide a bright, clear image, and long 15mm eye relief allows eyeglass wearers to see the entire field of view with their glasses on. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens prone to let dust come on the sensor? I ask this because of the shift mecanism. Is the lens body well insulated?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4 Macro Lens for Leica L It does not have the issue as zoom lenses have with dust. But it is not listed as weather sealed, which is pretty common on shift lenses.

Q: 2. Is there any downside or degradation in quality if you use this lens on a Canon mirrorless with the EF adapter?

A: An adapter just helps you to mount the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4 Macro Lens for Canon EF BH #VE1540C lens on the camera and doesn't have a glass on it. Hence the quality remains same. This is a manual focus lens.

Q: 3. With the ftz adapter, I just cannot nail tje focus at 1:1. Anyone have an idea what am doing wrong?

A: If the lens was placed further or closer than 4.7" from the subject, it will be difficult to focus for 1:1.

Q: 4. At infinity focus, how far out from the bayonet does the rear element extend? Or more to the point, has anyone tried to use this lens in K mount at infinity on a Canon full frame dslr? Any trouble with the Canon's mirror hitting the rear element?I'm hoping I can buy this lens in PK mount and use it on both a Pentax dslr and a Canon 5D. Since this lens has a manual aperture, there's no auto aperture lever extending from the bayonet which would hit the 5D's mirror. So, in theory, I should be able to use this lens in K mount on a Canon 5D just by using a simple PK to Canon adapter.Unless the rear element / housing extends too far out from the bayonet. Anyone know?

A: My lens is a Nikon mount so I don't know how helpful this will be.At infinity focus, the rear element's barrel back face projects approximately 3.5 mm beyond the rearmost surface of the Nikon mounting flange

Q: 5. How is shift limited to aps-c? Can it be overridden?

A: The lens physically cannot shift or tilt more than 6mm.

Q: 6. When the description mentions shift it puts (APS-C) after it. Can you also use the shift on a full-frame camera, or is the image circle too small?

A: I havent had the opportunity to try the shift on my D800, but my understanding is that it will significantly vignette.

Q: 7. What happens when you mount the Canon EF lens version on a adapter to suit it to a Sony A7iii camera? The image quality changes and the aperture range changes correct?

A: The image quality usually doesn't change much when using an adapter and the exposure doesn't either. Most adapters don't support autofocus, so if you put an autofocus lens on with an adapter, you might have to focus manually. There are good adapters for Canon mount lenses that will support autofocus on a Sony camera.

Q: 8. Is this Len comp with Nikon d5100,7100&7200 cameras ?

A: yes, but it is all manual

Q: 9. With its 12cm minimum focusing distance, how can it achieve 1:1 magnification with 15mm focal length?

A: The lens can focus as close as 4.72 (12cm) from the object. With that minimum focus distance that lens can produce a 1:1 magnification ratio.

Q: 10. Can we use this with Canon 70D

A: I use it on my Full frame 6D but apparently it can be used on a crop sensor check for vignetting before you buy.
