A: The Sony battery can stay in place.

A: yes it does. however with this product it is best to use the dummy battery. Anton Bauer P-Tap to NP-FZ100 Regulated 7.4V Dummy Battery for Sony a9/a7R III BH #ANPS7RDNZ1B • MFR #8075-0318 When you use a USB cable with your A7S III it will reduce the discharge rate of your battery but eventually the battery will die. Using the dummy battery above allows you to power the camera from the Anton Bauer Battery instead of relying on the internal battery for power.
