A: Battery must be removed from the grip and recharged with a separate battery charger. There is no provision for charging the battery while its in the grip. If using a EN-EL18, you will need to buy a charger for it.

A: The grip has to be removed to allow a dummy battery to be inserted into the camera, then attach the ac adapter to the dummy battery.
