Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the HDMI/SDI output use the compressed H.264 feed from the ATEM encoder? Or does it output the higher quality feed from your camera/source?

A: The Streaming Bridge gets it's input from the streaming output of the ATEM Mini Pro which will be H.264 encoded. The image will be quite good but it is compressed.

Q: 2. Can I use this Streaming Bridge with the ATEM Mini Pro to operate the ATEM Software on my Mac computer and provide a program output to both the SDI and HDMI outputs, and use the USB-C of the ATEM Mini Pro to record the program?

A: Yes.

Q: 3. Can I take the ethernet out of the Atem Mini Pro into a network switch and send the video output to any or all of the network switch ports to output with ethernet to sdi/hdmi converters?

A: Yes, that should work. In the ATEM Control Software you will see the Stream Bridge come up as one of the options to stream to.

Q: 4. For a client that has a Mini Pro, and a Mini Pro Extreme - am I correct in assuming we can take the ethernet out of the Extreme to the Bridge; an HDMI out to the Mini Pro so that we can stream? Then, do lobby monitors get fed only through SDI, or can the network also pick up the feed and send it to specific monitors?

A: The ATEM Mini Extreme's Ethernet output may be sent to the Streaming Bridge, so that an HDMI output may then be routed to the ATEM Mini Pro for the streaming process. ATEM Streaming Bridge units will be required to receive the Extreme's video output so that it may be converted to the desired connectivity protocol.

Q: 5. We use the usb c for a webcam for feeds to zoom and other meetings. Can I use the bridge then to record or send to a computer that could record the event that way?

A: The ATEM Streaming Bridge doesn't have recording capabilities. If you send your ATEM Mini Pro's program feed over ethernet to the ATEM Streaming Bridge, you'll need a capture device to get the HDMI or SDI output into the computer for recording.

Q: 6. Any way to connect the ATEM Mini Pro to a Hard drive and a computer via the USB C?

A: The USB on the ATEM Mini Pro can either record for hard drive or connect as webcam. They are completely different USB functions and cannot happen at the same time.

Q: 7. With ATEM Mini Pro, can I simultaneously use ATEM HDMI for multi-view, USB-C for recording, and ethernet for *both* software control (from PC), and driving this device for streaming?

A: Yes to all.

Q: 8. When streaming from an ATEM PRO to a Streaming Bridge, will the audio going with HDMI video (eg. a camera) also goes with?

A: On the ATEM the Blackmagic Design ATEM Streaming Bridge for ATEM Mini Pro Streaming Switchers two channels of embedded audio from the ATEM will stream to the Streaming Bridge and will be embedded into both SDI and HDMI outputs.

Q: 9. If this is used to connect over the internet, would the quality be sufficient to remotely pull a chroma key from the feed?

A: Pulling a chroma Key from a compressed image would be difficult, an uncompressed signal is recommended for pulling any sort of key

Q: 10. will this work with Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD Live Production Switcher?

A: The Blackmagic Design ATEM Streaming Bridge for ATEM Mini Pro Streaming Switchers will work with the Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD Live Production Switcher.
