Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The lenses separately would only cost $8000. We're paying $500 for the case?

A: These are high quality, precision lenses. You would be getting a state of the art, custom fitted, high quality case to put them in. Considering the cost of the lenses, we recommend a case of this caliber.

Q: 2. Do these lenses work with the EVA1? If so, will it crop the image?

A: No. Both lenses and the camera are Super 35mm so there will not be any cropping.

Q: 3. Is the lens 6 bit coded? Will it provide full info through the Leica M to L adapter for the SL@?

A: The Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. Lens is 6 bit coded, and will work with the M to L adapter for the Leica SL2 camera.

Q: 4. I am shooting with an M10 and M10P and own a visoflex 020. Will the visoflex work with this lens or do i need the additional wide angle viewfinder?

A: The Leica Visoflex (Typ 020) Electronic Viewfinder should work with most any lens. It is just forwarding the information the back lcd panel would see.

Q: 5. Are these lenses parfocal? (in the same way that the GL modded versions are...)

A: According to Sigma these lenses are nearly parfocal. For more information please, see the B&H Explora article, Parfocal or Not: For Sigma High Speed Zooms, that is the Question.

Q: 6. can this lens be shot at in between setting of its focal lengths say at 17 ?

A: It would not be possible to shoot in between the set focal lengths of this lens.

Q: 7. How does this quasi-zoom compare with Leica primes of the three same focal lengths?

A: The Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH lens compares very nicely with the Leica primes of the same focal length, at f/4 aperture. The Leica 21mm prime is a f/3.4, and the Leica 18mm prime is f/2.8.

Q: 8. Can this be used with a Visoflex?

A: If you are referring to using the Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. Lens with the Leica Visoflex (Typ 020) Electronic Viewfinder, B&H # LEVSB, along with a camera that is compatible for use with the Leica Visoflex (Typ 020) Electronic Viewfinder, then yes, the Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH. Lens and the Leica Visoflex (Typ 020) may be used together.

Q: 9. With the Leica adapter, can it be used with the Leica SL [601]?

A: Yes, with the M-L adapter it will work.

Q: 10. how this lens would perform with m 10 monochrome?

A: This lens would provide excellent performance with the Leica M10 Monochrome.
