If you commonly use multiple applications at the same time; work with video editing and format conversion; develop software, or undertake complex simulations, then the iMac Pro would be a great option. If you use your computer for word processing, spreadsheets, web browsing; and similar work, then an a new standard iMac is a great option. I would recommend that you avoid configuring a standard iMac with a top end CPU and GPU because of heat management issues that cause the fans to run, which can annoy some users. Also not that the CPU, memory, and flash drives are upgradable with the new iMac Pro, but it's something probably best left to a certified Apple service facility.
