Combined with 16GB of Unified RAM and a 1TB SSD, you'll be able to take full advantage of macOS as well as other Apple apps.

With a 4.5K (4480 x 2520) screen resolution, this iMac provides over one billion colors and 500 nits of brightness. The Retina 4.5K display also features the wide P3 color gamut, which provides a larger color space that more equally represent red, green, and blue. And with more available colors, the images will appear more vivid and reveal greater detail, with more balance and precision. The display is further enhanced by True Tone technology for a more natural viewing experience.

Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.3. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB 4 support and can even connect to a single Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution. Apple also included a Full HD 1080p FaceTime HD camera with Apple's latest camera ISP in the M3 chip, enabling sharper images and more details in shadows and highlights in video calls. The studio-quality three-mic array provide high signal-to-noise ratio and directional beamforming for clear recordings and calls. The iMac also features a high-fidelity six-speaker system with force-canceling woofers. Providing wide stereo sound, the iMac also supports spatial audio when playing videos with Dolby Atmos.

Now packed with 25 billion transistors, five billion more than M2, the Apple M3 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC). Built with 3nm process technology, the Apple M3 Pro delivers the performance you need without sacrificing power efficiency. The 8-Core CPU features four performance cores and four efficiency cores, which is up to 35 percent faster than M1 for CPU performance. The M3 also supports up to 24GB of unified memory.

With an 8-Core GPU, the M3 features Dynamic Caching, which allocates the use of local memory in hardware in real time. Dynamic Caching only uses the exact amount of memory needed for each task, which dramatically increases the average utilization of the GPU, resulting in significant performance increases for the most demanding pro apps and games. Hardware-accelerated ray tracing has arrived for the Mac. Ray tracing models the properties of light as it interacts with a scene, allowing apps to create extremely realistic and physically accurate images. Additionally, the improved GPU brings hardware-accelerated mesh shading to the Mac, delivering greater capability and efficiency to geometry processing, and enabling more visually complex scenes in games and graphics-intensive apps.

The M3-equipped 24" iMac features a compact footprint and a slick side profile, measuring just 11.5mm thin.

The iMac features a 24" Retina Display with 500 nits of brightness. The Retina Display features a 4480 x 2520 resolution at 218 pixels per inch (ppi). It also supports the P3 wide color gamut, which features 25% more colors than the commonly used sRGB gamut, for even more vibrant greens and reds. The display is calibrated at the factory for accurate gamma, white point, and primary colors. The screen features an anti-reflective coating to reduce light glare.

With True Tone technology, the display and Touch Bar deliver a more natural viewing experience for design and editing workflows, as well as everyday tasks like browsing the web and writing email.

Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also supports USB4, allowing you to connect to more peripherals, including the Apple Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution.

The iMac now features a Full HD 1080p FaceTime HD camera, allowing you to host video chats in high quality and provides optimal performance even in low light. The iMac takes advantage of the image signal processor in the M3 chip and the Neural Engine, enhancing camera image quality with better noise reduction, greater dynamic range, and improved auto exposure and white balance. No more grainy video chats for you, you'll be able to connect with friends and family in a high quality FaceTime call. The studio-quality three-mic array also provides clear calls and voice recordings, thanks to its noise reduction and directional beamforming.

The iMac has two pairs of force-cancelling woofers placed side by side for an impressive bass response, while reducing unintended vibrations. Each pair is balanced with a high-performance tweeter. The result is a six-speaker sound system that produces a sound stage with strong, articulate bass and clear mids and highs. All of these speaker innovations, coupled with advanced algorithms, enable iMac to support spatial audio when playing video with Dolby Atmos.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Please compare the performance of the iMac Pro Graphics card options: AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 vs 64? Is the 64 only for serious gamers or would a video or photo editor benefit from the upgrade?

A: For photos I wouldnt think Its necessary.Video editing may be another story. Im editing on an external drive so it isnt really that fast at the moment.

Q: 2. Will the DVD of Photoshop CS6 install and work on the base model iMac Pro? I don't do renta Photoshop.

A: I am sorry the latest OS, will not be compatible with Photoshop CS6

Q: 3. Are there any Imac pro owners who are editing 4k with gh5?what are the optimum specs for editing GH5 4K?thank you

A: Hey Kenny, I am editing 4k video from my Sony A7Sii with the new iMac Pro on FCPX 4.1. I don't have gh5. I got the maxed-out 16 processor system and I have not had any issues. I have background rendering selected and everything works smoothly. Best of luck!

Q: 4. can i attach my dell monitor to for an additional screen?

A: Yes, you can connect multiple displays to the iMac Pro.

Q: 5. Is the keyboard with numeric pad?

A: it is a standard apple keyboard with numeric pad (but wireless)

Q: 6. Is it Worth it?I had an iMac for 8 years. I was able to upgrade the RAM after 4 years. I paid $3000.00 plus at the time got great life with little hassle. The PC Operating System has gotten better...There seem to be less viruses than the past...and the operating system..Windows 10 is quite stable. Is it worth paying for an iMac Pro that I can do little to for upgrading something as simple as Ram. I can get a PC that is kitted out and at least upgrade a few components if needed. I don't know tthis time around Apple if I truly want to give you my Money.-2nd Guest

A: It depends on how you plan to use the iMac Pro. If you commonly use multiple applications at the same time; work with video editing and format conversion; develop software, or undertake complex simulations, then the iMac Pro would be a great option. If you use your computer for word processing, spreadsheets, web browsing; and similar work, then an a new standard iMac is a great option. I would recommend that you avoid configuring a standard iMac with a top end CPU and GPU because of heat management issues that cause the fans to run, which can annoy some users. The iMac Pro has a completely different dual fan cooling system and I have yet to hear the iMac Pro's fan run. Also not that the CPU, memory, and flash drives are upgradable with the new iMac Pro, but it's something probably best left to a certified Apple service facility. With 32 GB of RAM the minimum configuration for the iMac Pro, you should be in great shape for a long time, unless you begin to work with 4K video in the future. Actually, the iMac Pro is a pretty good deal if you just consider the costs of a Xeon W series CPU, the Radeon Pro Vega graphics processor, the insanely fast flash drive, the stunning 5K monitor, and 32GB of 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory. Plus the iMac has a second separate GPU, the T2, that manages overhead activities and security.

Q: 7. What do you do with dust accumulation inside the iMac?

A: Hi Ryan, I've owned my iMac Pro for a few months, with no dust accumulation. Cheers, Nick

Q: 8. Currently (late December, 2020 and January 2021) what operating system is installed in the IMAC PROs ? Can the Imac be purchased with Mojave OS (NOT BigSUR)?

A: It is uncertain which version of MacOS is installed at time of purchase. Which OS is installed is dependent upon when the computer was manufactured and what the macOS version was current at the time - that information is also not available on the packaging.

Q: 9. Any Final Cut users have comparitive experience with the Radeon Vega Pro 64 vs. 56 ? Clearly the 64 would process 4k faster but I'm wondering speed bump is worth the price given that I'm a semi-pro who does 50/50 4k vs.2k. (thanks in advance for replies.)

A: If you take 10min 4k video file and compare 56 vs 64 . The 64 is gonna export the video about 1min faster . So little faster . Keep in mind if you do like 4hr long 4k video, the 64 prob be 10-15 faster .

Q: 10. What does AppleCare cost for these iMac Pros?

A: Apple care for the Imac pro will be $169
