Even when you flip the legs around the center column in the suggested manner and tuck the mounting plate between the legs, the head does not come close to fitting into the bag with the tripod. The limiting factor is the width of the bag, not the height. If you want to store the tripod with the head, try the FLM FB 14-48 tripod bag. It fits in that.
