The black I2 Instrument Microphone, Standard Gain, with TA4F Connector for Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version offers a standard gain and is suitable for close miking and loud instruments like horns. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this, Vello Shutterboss Version II Timer Remote Switch for Nikon with DC2 better than a Yongnuo RF-603N II Wireless Flash Trigger Kit for Nikon DC2 Connection ??

A: I believe the Vello Shutterboss Version II is a better product than the Yongnuo. It has never failed me and the battery last quite a long time. I have owned two of these devices, one for a Nikon d7100 and now for the Nikon D810. I also believe that the wired versions of these devices are more reliable.

Q: 2. Does this work in the silent mode and still maintain the silent shutter?

A: Sony states that yes, the Silent Shooting mode should work when using a remote release connected to the camera's Multi-Terminal port. Do note that the mode dial has to be set to P/A/S/M to use the Silent Shooting mode.

Q: 3. My camera will take 10 frames per second. Can I still do that with this Shutter Box II attached to the camera?

A: Yes, you can rapid shoot with the Shutterboss.

Q: 4. Is the shutter a two-step button like the shutter of the camera?

A: Yeah, it does. It just acts like the shutter button on the camera. Press half-way down on the remote to focus and press down to shoot.

Q: 5. Will this work with Panasonic G9 ?

A: Yes this will work on your Panasonic G9.

Q: 6. will this shoot in Bulb?

A: Yes...it does do Bulb Mode!

Q: 7. work with a6000?

A: This shutter release has been replaced with this one: Vello ShutterBoss II Timer Remote Switch for Sony Multi-Terminal B&H # VERCS2II. And yes it will work with the Sony a6000 or any Multi Terminal Sony camera for that matter.

Q: 8. will a bracket drive continuous take all 3/5 images per shutter? I intend to make an hdr time lapse on my sony a6300.

A: I have the same question, and I would like to bracket a somewhat low-light scenario (solar eclipse totality). On the Sony a6500 and a6300, you have to hold down the shutter release button for the length of time that is necessary for all bracketing exposures to complete. Reading the Vello manual, I think this can be done by specifying the Vello's TIMED EXPOSURE LENGTH, i.e. the length of time it essentially 'holds down' the shutter release button. For me, I think I can get all bracketed exposures completed within 5 seconds. Has anyone tried this on the Vello or other system?

Q: 9. What is the best intervalometer for a Nikon D3000 that will also allow me to do HDR?

A: Yes, the Shutterboss II would be your best option for HDR.

Q: 10. What accessories come with the device? Are the cable and batteries included in the package?

A: Everything you need is included. The instructions are a tad on the vague side. But once I got it figured out, it is a great product. Good range for the wireless also.
