Q: 1. Can a fluid head be mounted on this tripod for better video performance? If so, any recommendations?

A: The Digital Balance Pro is an excellent video head for these legs.a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825418-REG/Daiwa_Slik_618_665_Digital_Balance_Pro_Fluid.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825418-REG/Daiwa_Slik_618_665_Digital_Balance_Pro_Fluid.html/a

Q: 2. Will the 3way head support the Photek TRI-X-2500 Tripod Extender with a light weight camcorder or camera. I'm concerned about the quick release. Will everything work together?

A: This tripod has a load capacity of 19.8 pounds. It should be able to handle the weight of a small camera or camcorder and B&H # PHT2500. However we suggest that you use a sandbag on the other side that the camera is not on to keep the tripod balanced. An option that you can fill yourself, as you may not need a full 5 pounds, would be the ideal choice for that. https://bhpho.to/2K5SHpe

Q: 3. Will this work with a Nikon d5300?

A: It sure will.

Q: 4. Can you elaborate about the pan head? Also can I replace the pan-head with a ball head for this tripod? I would also like to know if this tripod model's legs are the same as http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/557127-REG/Slik_615_317_700DX_Pro_Tripod_Legs.html

A: Here is the direct link to the head itself. Please see the following link:http://bhpho.to/1hJ65rDThe legs are the same as the Slik 615-317 and you can replace the head with any other brand or model tripod head that uses a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread mount.

Q: 5. Can it be used as a travel tripod?

A: The Pro 700 DX tripod is not really considered a travel tripod, as it weighs in at just over 7 lbs, and only folds to just under 30 inches. A better travel tripod would be something like one of the Pro 340 series.

Q: 6. can a slider be mounted on this?

A: I actually just recently used this tripod in a film. I was using a pretty stripped down Black Magic URSA Mini 4.6k. I mounted a three foot slider on the tripod but found that the camera was a bit too heavy, and as the camera moved away from the center of the slider, the tripod head began to have trouble supporting the full load. So I used two C-Stands on either side to support the ends of the slider. However, if you're using a DSLR or another light weight camera, I don't think you'd run into that problem. It's a really sturdy tripod, but the head is just not made for extremely heavy loads.

Q: 7. Can I use an extension arm with this for flat lay photography?

A: Certainly, just unscrew the head and attach a lateral arm to the legs and then reattach the head to the end of the lateral arm. Click the link below to view your options; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Arms/ci/10829/N/4075788750

Q: 8. Can tripod be used for macro photography?

A: Yes, it can. The center column can be split in two and then reversed, so the head will hang between the legs.

Q: 9. What does it weigh?

A: 3lbs or so

Q: 10. Will this work in a DN-400?

A: This is pacifically designed to work with DN600/700 and HDR-60/70 recorders.
