Q: 1. Would the RRS 55H work on this tripod? And would suggest this or the manfrotto 055 for using with a sigma 150-600?

A: Yes. The Sirui W-2204 Waterproof Carbon Fiber Tripod is compatible with the RRS BH-55 head. The Sirui is waterproof, taller, and lighter weight than the Manfrotto 055. Both would be fine for use with the 150-600 lens.

Q: 2. can someone who have used this tripod for a while and long periods of time IN WATER please give us a report? i have been trying to find a tripod that's waterproof for years and spent countless of money on so many products that always gave up in water... please confirm the durability of the legs and the rings in water... thanks :)

A: I bought mine in Sept of 2016 and have had it in salt water probably over 60 times. I have never rinsed it off and never wiped it down. Admittedly, I'm pretty tough on my gear and killed 3 previous tripods. B&H recommended this one, so I took a chance on it and LOVE it. Even after everything I had put it through, it works like the day I bought it. I did loose a rubber foot somewhere in Hawaii (oh ya, I even shot the lava with it) and had to have it replaced. But that's it. I look at tripods 2 and 3 times more expensive than this one and thought that I need to spend that kind of money to get a good one. Boy am I glad I didn't and the B&H recommended this one. Super happy with it (and no, I don't work for Sirui.. hahaha). Hope that helped you.

Q: 3. Has anyone taken this tripod on Carry-On Luggage? I am concerned that the Spikes are built in that it might be an issue.

A: Not built in. and...i took it several times with me with no problem at the airport.

Q: 4. Can someone please tell me the tripod's maximum height without using the center column, and excluding a tripod head?

A: I set mine up. It's 58 1/4 inches without a head. The legs are only out at the first notch.

Q: 5. Which dolly works with this for mostly cinematography work? Also if legs are taken to the lowest height, will it still fit on the dolly?

A: The following Manfrotto dollies are compatible with this tripod: 114, 127, 127VS

Q: 6. Is there a ballast hook to use with the center column removed?

A: Yes there is a hook at the bottom of the center column.

Q: 7. What metal is the center spider (area where the legs fit) made of?

A: This tripod's center is made of aluminium.

Q: 8. How do you change the leg angle????

A: At the top of each leg is a release clip that allows leg adjustments to be made at set angles. :) In the pictures, the release clip is the part that says "Jobu Design Algonquin" on it.

Q: 9. How well can this tripod fold around Markins Q10 or similar ballheads with wider pan base then tripod column base?

A: The Sirui K20 has a 54mm base and the K30 has a 61mm base and they both work well The Markins Q10 has a 62mm diameter base so it will fold easily

Q: 10. What is the minimum height in the vertical position?

A: The Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod has a minimum height of about 15 inches when you are not taking advantage of the 90 degree center column feature. Plus you would need to add the height of your tripod head to that 15 inches as well.
