The black I2 Instrument Microphone, High Gain, with 3-Pin XLR Connector for Select 3-Pin XLR Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and capturing detail in quieter instruments. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 3-Pin XLR connector for direct connection to Select 3-Pin XLR wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it compatible with Sony HDR cx240 camcorder?

A: No , for that camera you will need Sony RM-VPR1 Remote Commander with Multi-Terminal Cable B&H # SORMVPR1

Q: 2. Can it trigger video recording?

A: have not tried it on video.

Q: 3. Will this work for the Sony a5100? It lists the a5000 and 6000 but not the 5100.

A: I don't know. I've only used this with the a6000. Frankly, this remote is not as good as the Sony version, which is worth the extra money.

Q: 4. Does this work with Sony a7 III?

A: Well i have the a7riii and it works with that so probably it is working with the a7iii

Q: 5. does it work on a6500?

A: Yes, works fine on my a6500, plugs right in to the MULTI outlet on the side of the camera (also works great on my a7ii). A real boon for long exposure photos, it even has a lock down function for BULB exposures. Not to mention that the price makes it a must have item.

Q: 6. Is this remote compatible with Sony NEX 3N?

A: If it has a multi/micro USB terminal, it probably is.

Q: 7. Will this work on the Sony RX10 mk 3?

A: I have a Vello wired remote switch which looks like the one displayed though i can't say for sure that it's the RS-S211. The one i have works with my Sony RX10 mk3

Q: 8. Has anyone used this with a Sony alpha 99 mark ii (ILCA-99M2) and does it work? Thanks.

A: I use these on the Sony 6300 and 7RII. If your camera has the same interface, you should be fine.

Q: 9. Does it work with sony a3500 and does it have BULB mode?

A: Yes. This works with the Sony Alpha a3500. For Bulb one can press the button and slide it forward to lock it for long exposures.

Q: 10. Has anyone used this to trigger video on the a6000?

A: Unfortunately, this remote cannot start/stop the video recording in the A6000.
