Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this support Talkback on the ATEM TV Studio 4K?

A: Yes it is compatible with the ATEM Talkback system.

Q: 2. Can these be ordered with ST connectors?

A: You will need to purchase ST connectors separately.

Q: 3. Do you need the converter on both ends of an SDI run? For example, Panasonic AU150 PTZ has a fiber out.

A: If you're changing it from fiber to SDI then back to fiber (or vice versa), you would need two. If it's only one conversion on one end of the run, you only need one converter box.

Q: 4. could one of the channels carry reference/genlock?

A: No only digital SDI Video signals. Reference is an analog signal.

Q: 5. After BMDs announcements at NAB2024 is this part deprecated in favor of the new 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G?

A: No, the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G-SDI will still have it's use cases. You should get the signal convertor that best suits your specific workflow.

Q: 6. On the transmit end, will the SDI out work as a loop out of the SDI input, or is it strictly wired to only work with the fiber output?

A: The SDI Out is not a loop but an output from the fiber.

Q: 7. Is there an SFP for this that can do Multimode om3 fiber?

A: The Black Magic SFP options only support Duplex LC Connectors compatible with singlemode Fiber. Compatible with Singlemode Fiber Black Magic SFP options. https://bhpho.to/3P511DN

Q: 8. Can I use this in simplex, just one LC connector? After adding a module of course.

A: Yes, that should work.

Q: 9. What is the size of the DC power connector, is it a 2.1mm locking?

A: The Blackmagic Design PSUPPLY-INT12V10W Power Supply for Mini Converters power supply's barrel is: inner diameter 2.5mm / outer diameter 5.5mm.

Q: 10. Does this unit include fiber driver and power supply?

A: The SWIT Portable Bi-Directional SDI to/from Optical Fiber Converter has power supply. This does not have fiber driver.
