A: Yes it is compatible. The only reason that this device is for Nikon is that the TTL will work with Nikon flashes but you still need the receiver. As far as I'm aware this transceiver won't trigger Nikon flashes without the receiver on the flash. Hope this helps

A: The kit consists of two units. The unit with the Screen mounts on you camera's flash hot shoe. The other unit is the Receiver and it's for a remote speedlight to mount to. You need both units. On the back of the unit w/screen that mounts on your camera, it's labeled Transceiver . On the back of the other unit it's labeled Receiver . It's a semantics thing. BTW: The kit works fantastically. Q: 10. Can I use with a strobe instead of a speed light?

A: If by stobe you mean a light source that uses a PC cable connection v. a direct attachment to the camera, then YES. The receiver of the pair has a PC socket on it, so you can connect a standard PC cable. Personally, I have never tried it, because I don't use those types of light sources.
