I just purchased my third SSL-36. My original need was vertical lighting of a green screen. I just built a system to carry three of these high and horizontal across the front of the video stage. If I can get an extension power cable from Generay between the control module and the lamp this will be a perfect stage light system.


The photo shows my test build of a transportable stage lighting rig. The unobstructed span from light stand to light stand is 17'. The horizontal pole is 1 1/4 aluminum pipe joined with speed rail connectors. The stands are Manfrotto 231CS. They are substantial and transportable. I found that doubling the sliding arm is needed when the load gets heavy.

So far, I have used these lights with green screen and the light is very even. I love the barn doors which, because of the way they are mounted, eliminate spill light extremely well. As for the stands, the LS-CB6 Combo Boom stand is destined to be a workhorse. Having the boom integral with the stand is a great design.

It is really a nice product, workable in many photo and video shooting situation.
I will recommend this product to photographers and video interviews.
Price is also good, fast delivery, nice cooperation.

This has become one of my favorite lights! This thing comes in a great carrying case, and first and foremost, the fact that this thing has barn doors IS AWESOME! I feel like every LONG LED panel just spills everywhere!

This thing is easy to mount & move, and is a large source! I love lighting full body shots with it because of its height and ability to be controlled! I could see always for a studio, this would be great for a large source, and not spill on a backdrop

We used this on a shoot and did about 65% of the shots with this, and it performed so well! Just an amazing, color accurate, versatile light! No real gripes about it either, although it does have a plastic smell, so just don't be alarmed...it fades.

I own (3) of these that I use for a multitude of reasons; primarily for product photography. I find the light nice and diffuse and the easy changeable settings are a huge plus. Highly recommend!

We bought 8 of these for our green screen cyc and really like them! The construction quality is on par with more expensive brands. The quality of the light is great and the barn doors have a solid build quality to them.


I like the quality of these lights so much, the even and clean dimming that I use them now to also record my podcast with, choosing this as a quick and easy alternative over our more expensive lite panels and Apetures we also have.

I have two of these lighting 107 wide paper backdrops. I get a nice even coverage over a nice area. Setting the power level is smooth and easy. I'm interested in the remote control which Genaray says will be available later this year but I can easily live without it. I'm very happy with these lights.
