Q: 1. Will the V-1 accept SD Pal Cameras, conected to a converter like this https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1037093-REG/ocean_matrix_omx_cv_hdmi_video_to_hdmi_pro.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1037093-REG/ocean_matrix_omx_cv_hdmi_video_to_hdmi_pro.html/a ?
A: The basic fact of a switcher is that once the frame rate is set, all input signals must be the same frame rate. Thus it is very SOP (standard operating procedure) to use converters such as the Ocean Matrix Video to HDMI Pro Mini Converter/Scaler to make a source confirm to the switcher. Since we have not tested this combination, we can only give the opinion we do not see any reason it will not work as desired.
Q: 2. Will this show up as a webcam through the USB?
A: The USB on this is for control only. It does not have a USB output for video.
Q: 3. In regards to the minimum read/write speeds, will the card still be suitable to record lower bitrate codecs? (For example 4K 24p in X-AVC on a Canon R5 C?)
A: Yes, the Angelbird 160GB AV PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B SX Memory Card is suitable to record lower bitrate codecs? (For example 4K 24p in X-AVC on a Canon R5 C)
Q: 4. will this fit Nikon D5500 with 55-300 lens attached. and not be too long ?
A: The challenge I had when I purchased this was that although I was told it would fit my D810 body, it was too small. Dont worry about it being too long, it will just collapse when pushed on, but make sure it fits your DSLR body. That was more important.
Q: 5. Does this card read by the Sony XQD/SD card reader?
A: Yes. The following card will pick up in the sony reader.
Q: 6. Can this card be read in a SONY model # MRW-E90 card reader ?
A: No, Angelbird 160GB AV PRO CFexpress 2.0 Type B SX Memory Card is not compatible with the following Sony card reader. Sony XQD/SD Card Reader BH #SODXQDSDCR • MFR #MRW-E90/BC2 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1219034-REG/sony_mrwe90_bc1_xqd_sd_card_reader.html/qa?fromDisList=y I recomend using the BH #ANCFX32PK.
Q: 7. Is this rack mountable?
A: The Roland V-1SDI is not rack mountable, it is designed to be used on a table top so you can access the control surface. However you could put this on a Sliding Rack Shelf, that way you can pull the unit out when you need to use it.
Q: 8. Can I connect this device (out) to a VR3X (in)?
A: That would be possible. You could take the output from the V-1HD and connect it to the Roland VR-3EX's 4th HDMI input. The 4th HDMI input on the VR-3EX can accept an HD signal.
Q: 9. One of our camera feeds also sends the audio feed from our mixer. Will this device let me constantly use the audio from camera 1 even if I switch to camera 2?
A: Yes, that is possible. You are able to select the audio you want to be live independent of which camera input is live.
Q: 10. Will this video switcher work with a Sony HDV Handycam HDR-FX100?
A: If the HDR-FX100 can output a live camera signal through its HDMI socket, I don't see any reason why it would not make a direct connection with the HDMI input of the Roland V-H1D and be a switched-able input. This Roland switcher is great and easy to operate.Enjoy.
