The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" 2 Cranberry Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a magenta-like, pinkish-red coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 2 color density provides less cranberry coloration than the 3 density, but more than the 1 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Q: 1. Understand the tripod collar for the 150-600 has a 3/8 screw. Would you know what plate is available for use with an Induro tripod Model AKB2 - believe it has a BH2M type ballhead? Thanks.

A: Sorry, but I have no clue. Someone at B&H might be able to give you the answer.Mark

Q: 2. What specifically is the UV haze filter (brand, model, etc) that is included in this package? (It would be nice to have the details explained in the description)

A: The UV haze filter will help to cut through UV haze especially with landscape photography. However, I feel that the most important reason for using the filter is to protect the lens. Putting the filter on is the first thing I do when I get the lens. It is a lot less expensive to replace a scratched filter than a scratched lens, which is bound to happen with use over time.

Q: 3. Is this or the Sigma 150-600mm better?

A: When I was shopping the Tamron and Sigma, I found that they were essentially equivalent and neither one held a distinct advantage over the other for me. I decided on the Tamron based on price. At the time, Tamron was offering a rebate and Sigma was not. I am very happy with the purchase - no regrets.

Q: 4. Will this lens work with a Nikon D3300?

A: Yes it will. This lens is compatible with the Nikon D3300.

Q: 5. Any problems with the firmware and if so what did you do?

A: I have not encountered any problems shooting with the Nikon D7100 nor with the Nikon D750.Have you checked to see if applies only to certain camera bodies. Sometimes firmware updates are available for specific combinations only.

Q: 6. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D3400?

A: Yes, the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5.6-6.3 Di VC USD lens is compatible with the D3400.

Q: 7. Can I purchase a 2 visual back. I have a 2 Crayford as well as 2 eyepieces? Thanks.

A: The optical tube on the NextStar Evolution 8 is the standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that Celestron has been selling for years with other types of mounts. So, 2 eyepieces and other attachments should work as well on the Evolution as they do on the other 8 Celestron SCTs makes and sells. The only thing you should keep in mind is the clearance between the back of the SCT tube and the base of the mount. It might limit your choices to accessories.

Q: 8. This item is back ordered. When do you expect delivery?

A: Unfortunately, the demand for this new lens is unprecedented and has been taking longer than originally anticipated to fulfill. Tamron is doing the best possible to provide the product for all those ordering it. Currently, the lens is shipping in more plentiful numbers thanks to their efforts and backorders are being filled in the order they were placed. I truly apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this delay may cause. We are proactively working with Tamron to fill all orders placed with us as quickly as possible.

Q: 9. Is it made in China or Japan?

A: China. But so are most consumer electronics. The Nikkor 200-500mm is also made in China.

Q: 10. Is compatible this lens with the Nikon TC 1.4x?

A: This lens is compatible with the Nikon TC 1.4x, however, you may not retain the use of autofocus.
