As everyone now knows the High ISO performance is very good. This was not the reason for my purchase. But even though it wasn't the reason for my purchase I have found it to be a wonderful thing to not be leary of bumping the ISO a stop or two to keep a shake free haand held Photo. It's a single wheel machine with quite a lot of menu diving required but the menus are quite manageable and quick to use.

Professional- I was about to go with Nikon for my business, but looked at reviews on imaging resource and compared All the great Nikons, including Full frame and believe it or not, this little jewel beat the D90 hands down on high iso shooting. The kit lenses are also sharper on Pentax than on Nikon & Canon kits. It even looked better than some of the full frame camera comparisons between Nikon & Canon. The KX just came out, so there's not a lot of reviews, but the ones that are out there, convinced me that it is better than the more expensive name brands. And yes, I am pleased with the image quality.Bought it here at BH - used the money I saved to add TTL flash, and off camera bracket & diffuser. Plan to buy another at BH for back up camera.

Every once in a while a great camera is manufactured. ie... a Nikon F, a Pentax Spotmatic, an Olympus OM2n. Todays classic camera is the Pentax K-x! It has it all. Ease of use, fast accurate focus, wonderful image quality, terrific high ISO performance. Built in image stabilization, can use any lens that Pentax ever made. Even has built in Live view and video, plus It offers High Dynamic Range photography as well as many scene modes for beginning photographers...And it is an affordable entry level camera? Pro's eat your heart out!

I've been into digital photography for 7 years and just made the jump to a Pentax Kx DSLR. It is a great camera at a great price. It is easy to use and takes great pictures.

I like this camera because it takes excellent photos and is very rapid, in my last trip manage to take many photos, the life of the battery is very long, excellent for trips, records videos in very good HD. Totally advisable

Very nice camera, not to big, does everything. Takes very good pictures even in low lighted areas, which is very nice as we are usually indoors(winter) taking pictures of our new little boy. Also great that it comes with the second lens. I'd totally recommend this camera to people.

I just took this camera on a 3 week trip to Europe and it was great. I took 1300 pictures and the battery life is still full. I carried all those extra AA's for nothing.

This is my second adventure into the dSLR world. After being completely discouraged by the Nikon Coolpix 8700, I considered avoiding a dSLR and going point and shoot. I am glad I reconsidered. This camera is extremely easy to use. The menus are concise, clear, and easy to navigate. The quality of the photos I have taken are far superior to my point and shoots, my psedo SLR Nikon, my friends' SLRs and my old film cameras. I can just use the Auto functions and get beautiful shots. I find going into the manual functions very entertaining and get some very cool effects. I also find manipulating the photos in the camera itself can provide bold and weird results (with digital filter enhancements like fish eye lens, HDR, and pastel). Other filters and post shooting enhancements provide very usable final pictures. I also appreciate the fact the camera uses Lithium AA batteries, not some exotic battery that can only be found by spending a fortune. I rarely give 5 Stars to any product, but this camera is extremely deserving...and getting two lens made the price easy to handle.

This kit is great. I really wanted this camera. I live in the Midwest and was looking at local camera shops. Their price for the camera and the 18-55 lens alone was more than I paid for the Camera, 18-55 lense, 50-200 lense, Bag, and the memory card. I am new to DSLR so I have a lot to learn, but the K-x is making it easier on me. I am starting with the basics and the pictures look great. I wish there was a book for the K-x (Blue Lantern or whatever)so I could learn some of the more advanced features sooner. The K-x is a very good size. It is a bit smaller than most entry level DSLRs. I love the AA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries. It is so much more convenient. You can take 1,900 shots with the (Included)Energizer Ultra Lithium Batteries. The Frames per second (4.7) is impressive as well. I also like that there are so many lense options since Pentax has not changed the fitting.

I bought this primarily to take studio shots of 2D artwork and didn't need the bells and whistles of most expensive DSLRs but wanted a quality camera. I had a K-1000 back in the day and wanted the digital equivalent. This is exactly what I wanted. Not having a whole lot of digital photography experience I was a bit daunted about all the modes, but a pleasant hour spent with the manual and taking a bunch of test shots and I was up and running.
