A: My FS7II came with a cover plate that was held in place by 2 small screws. I had to remove this cover before I could install the the stock handle (with zoom/record controls and the 15mm rod for attaching the viewfinder and mic holder), so putting the plate back should keep out the dust.

Rather, use a Sony L-series battery directly in the camera's battery plate or a dummy battery connected to a V-mount battery plate (with a V-mount battery), if desired.
