The Tiffen 2 x 3" 1 Cranberry Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a magenta-like, pinkish-red coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 1 color density provides less cranberry coloration than the 2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 2 x 3" / 50.8 x 76.2mm.

Note: A vertical orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the short side of the filter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Like to order a filter for protection. I want to be able to use the lens hood and lens cap when the filter is on. What filter are recommended? Thanks.

A: The B+W 95mm UV Haze MRC filter will be a great choice for a protective filter that can be used in conjunction with the lens cap and hood: http://bhpho.to/1sri06B

Q: 2. Will the lens work with Tameron -F A teleconverter 2X N-AF. BBAR NO 7

A: I have not used it with teleconverter. I suppose it could be used although it may be somewhat uncomfortable and somewhat difficult. It is a heavy lens and its 600mm is very likely to vibrate when taking the picture. would have to see what kind of teleconverter but I guess there will be no problems

Q: 3. I know this lens does not come with a case like the old 200-500mm Tamron. What LowePro lens case do you recommend?

A: The Lowepro 11x26cm Lens Case will be an excellent fit for the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3: http://bhpho.to/Pwr3Sb

Q: 4. Does this telescope and mount stay fixed on the celestial object for astrophotography, similarto equatorial mount ?

A: Yes, this mount does track celestial objects and does a pretty good job. The problem is that it is an altitude-azimuth mount and so there is an effect called "field rotation" that will always be present. This is worse directly overhead and gets less pronounced as you go towards the horizon, but is always there. You can get around this somewhat by taking lots of short exposures and stacking them with software. I can take up to 15-second individual exposures and have combined these to make the equivalent of up to a 1-hour long exposure. Overall though, this is not a serious astrophotography mount in its stock form. You can buy a "wedge" to turn it into an equatorial mount and I've heard that works pretty well. I like the Evolution mount for its ease of use and setup. It's a great star party mount and I've had a lot of fun doing casual astrophotography of the brighter astronomical objects like the Messier Catalog. But if you want to take magazine quality images of an obscure nebula, you'll need an equatorial mount.

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with my antique Canon 10D?

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 6. Will this lens work with the Canon T6i.

A: Im using mine on the the Rebel T5 (T5is little brother), but the lens-to-camera fitting structure is the same. Looks like from other posts it fits the 3 and 7, so Id say youre good! B&H had fast delivery and its a nice lens at a fraction of the Canon price.

Q: 7. Does it have image stabilization?

A: I got the lens with the Sony A mount. That does not have vibration compensation since the Sony cameras typically have in body vibration compensation. The mounts for Nikon and Canon do have vibration compensation. There is a newer version of this lens available for Canon and Nikon mounts, but I am not sure how much better the newer version can be than the original, as this lens has been fabulous with my Sony A65, focusing quickly and accurately, while giving an incredible approximately 900 times zoom with my APS-C sensor. This lens is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Q: 8. Will this lens work on a canon rebel T6?

A: Yes. That's what I am using it with.

Q: 9. Will it campitable with canon 700d

A: Works great with the 700d/t5i.

Q: 10. Will this work with a D80?

A: Yes, it is fully compatible with the D80.
