The 4 x 4" Schneider ND Filter has several uses and offers the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film.

Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6) effectively compensates average situations.

To enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars

To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background

To decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations

To allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure

Schneider filters feature crystal clear, water-white optical glass, protected against edge-chipping and delamination by Schneider's unique Edge Seal, which also significantly reduces edge reflections and flare

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D90?

A: Yes this Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon is compatible with Nikon DSLR cameras, such as the Nikon D90.

Q: 2. I know this lens does not come with a case like the old 200-500mm Tamron. What LowePro lens case do you recommend?

A: The Lowepro 11x26cm Lens Case will be an excellent fit for the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3: http://bhpho.to/Pwr3Sb

Q: 3. will it work on my EOS-3?

A: If your camera accepts the standard canon lens it will accept the Tamron, I have used it on a 6D, T2i and a XSi. Good Luck.

Q: 4. can i use this lens for my rebel t5 and at the same time use for sony a6300?

A: no

Q: 5. will this lens fit the Nikon d5600?

A: Yes. I would recommend spending the extra dollars on the Generation 2 of this lens. MUCH faster autofocus and better dust/water seals.

Q: 6. Does it have image stabilization?

A: I got the lens with the Sony A mount. That does not have vibration compensation since the Sony cameras typically have in body vibration compensation. The mounts for Nikon and Canon do have vibration compensation. There is a newer version of this lens available for Canon and Nikon mounts, but I am not sure how much better the newer version can be than the original, as this lens has been fabulous with my Sony A65, focusing quickly and accurately, while giving an incredible approximately 900 times zoom with my APS-C sensor. This lens is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Q: 7. Will it campitable with canon 700d

A: Works great with the 700d/t5i.

Q: 8. You answered the question about the 1.4ext and auto focus but if I use MF on a tripod will the 1.4 and 2x canon extenders work properly using the 5D III. Thanks

A: The Canon extenders are only compatible with a select number of Canons pro level telephoto lenses; they are not compatible with lenses from other manufacturers such as the Tamron 150-600mm. You would need to use a third party teleconverter with this lens (Tamron, Kenko, Vivitar, etc.). Autofocus will not be supported, so you will need to manually focus the lens. http://bhpho.to/1pzmipP

Q: 9. Is this lens compatible with my antique Canon 10D?

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 10. Will this work with a Nikon D5500?

A: I use this on my D7100, but the 5500 has the same mount and I believe the same sensor, so there is no reason it wouldn't work just fine. Best tele lens on the market at this price point!!
