Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, When is the expiry date of the film?

A: Unfortunately, we do not have access to the Kodak Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) to read the expiration date before shipping. In general though, B&H does not sell film as new within 6 months of expiration.

Q: 2. Do you know of any equipment or companies that will perforate this stock?

A: Unfortunately,B&H does not sell a 35mm film perforator, and I am not aware of any company that provides this service (nor did I see any listed via a Google search).

Q: 3. I don't want to process this myself. Where can I get it processed?

A: http://www.cinelab.com/

Q: 4. will this film work with the Nikon f90?

A: Yes. This will work with any 35mm camera.

Q: 5. Do you have pre-paid film envelopes to process and print negatives?

A: Hello,Yes we do. With A&I mailers, your film is processed and you get back a set of 4x6 Glossy or Matte finish, (with white border or no border) prints. Mailer service includes normal processing, printing & return shipping. For push processing enclose a check for $1 per stop.

Q: 6. When is the expiry date of the film

A: Current inventory in our 420 superstore has an expiration date of May 2022. Based on the batch received, inventory in possession might have varying dates around the same approximate time period.

Q: 7. Is this film DX coded?

A: I believe it is, though I typically use it in a manual camera that cannot auto detect the ISO

Q: 8. Would this work for a TX Canon (1974)? I don't really know much about vintage cameras and film and I am trying to figure out what I would use... Also, how do you get the pictures after? I didn't think anyone developed rolls of film anymore, so I don't know where to go.

A: Tri-X is a pretty forgiving film that many people have used for ages. With minimal equipment and chemistry, a room that you can darken totally for 5-10 minutes while you load a light-tight developing tank, and a little practice, you can develop your own film at home, then scan the film and print your images digitally. Try it!

Q: 9. Do the pictures develop in black and white only? That's what I'm looking for. Thanks

A: Yes. Kodak Tri-X 400 is a roll of black and white film.

Q: 10. Is using a filter recommended, such as a yellow filter, when shooting landscapes?

A: I got very good results without using any filer.. Not sure what the subject will look like with a yellow filer..!
