Due to its 3-way speaker design and quality cones, this speaker reproduces a full-range of frequencies and lifelike imaging.
It has the ability direct the high and midrange frequencies toward your listening position by incorporating 1" pivoting dome tweeter and a 2" pivoting midrange driver. For optimal performance, the loudspeakers should be placed an equal distance from your listening position and separated so that the angle between them, at the listening position, is between 40 and 60 degrees.
The output of the midrange can be adjusted to compensate for speaker placement/listening positions that are less than ideal. The "0" position is designed to provide the smoothest frequency response on axis. If the mid-high frequency response is considered to be too strong or too weak, the midrange level can be increased ("+") or decreased ("-") to suit your listening preference.
With a frequency response of 55Hz - 28KHz, this speaker reproduces a full sound range from deep bass tones to ultra-high frequencies.
With its space-saving design of only 3-1/16" mounting depth, this speaker offers you maximum flexibility of being able to install it anywhere.
Locate your speaker location, trace the hole with the included cutting template sheet, cut the drywall, connect the speaker wires and mount the loudspeaker; it's that simple.
Both the frame and grille can be painted to blend into the existing environment.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. where does the subwoofer plug in?
A: The Subwoofer connects to the RCA port on the back of the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A4A that is labeled "Subwoofer", which can be found in the 3rd picture on the B&H product page for this model.
Q: 2. Is there an option to bypass MixPre onboard preamps in case i want to use external preamp?
A: Hi Andrew. Sure, if you want to use an external preamp, just set the XLR input(s) of the MixPre-3 II to LINE level and connect your preamp to the MixPre-3 II.
Q: 3. Would this unit be loud enough for a large room/community hall? (I plan to use highly efficient speakers like the Yamaha CBR12.)
A: The Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A6A 9.2-Channel MusicCast A/V Receiver is a very strong receiver with 150 watts per channel. This will cover a fairly large area, all depending on the speakers. The Yamaha CBR12 would not connect to this receiver directly as it uses 1/4" speaker connections.
Q: 4. Can I take the stereo output and send it to one of my Sony nx5 xlr inputs? Will be losing the benefit of having such a high quality device like the mix-pre 3?
A: Yes, you can connect the stereo output of the MixPre-3 II to the XLR inputs of the NX5. Please contact your reseller for the correct cable to do so. The quality of the audio recorded by the Sony may be lower that that of the MixPre-3 II local recording due to additional analog-to-digital conversions as well as overall quality of the audio circuitry of the NX5.
Q: 5. Can I connect this recorder directly to my GH5 so that when I am recording video the MixPre-3 is automatically recording sound? In other words, so that I don't have to remember to start and stop the MixPre separately from pressing record on my camera?
A: The MixPre-3 II uses record triggers via HDMI and/or timecode to automatically stop and start recording when the camera to which it is connected starts/stops recording. The MixPre-3 II should accept a record trigger from a GH5, but I would suggest testing this to confirm, as both camera and MixPre-3 II firmware changes over time can cause compatibility issues of which we may be unaware.
Q: 6. Can you jam timecode from a camera that sends timecode over hdmi like the Sony FS5 without leaving the hdmi cable plugged in?
A: The MixPre does not see timecode from an external source, unless it is recorded onto an unused audio track. It does have a generator that can feed your other devices, such as a camera.
Q: 7. can I buy it suited for a 240v grid?
A: The Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A6A receiver model that we offer is built for compatibility in North America only.
Q: 8. Do you have to use banana plugs to connect speakers
A: You are able to use Banana Plug adapters to connect the Speaker Wire. You may also connect the Bare Speaker Wire by Pulling / Winding out the Speaker Terminals.
Q: 9. where does the subwoofer connect?
A: The subwoofer connects to the back of the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A4A receiver.
Q: 10. On the Yamaha website it says it supports 4K/120 and 8K/60. Yet you state the opposite. Which is it?
A: On the Yamaha website it states that this AV receiver will support 4K120 and 8K60 HDMI and HDR10+ with a future update.
