The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini connector for Azden transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can i use this with my panasonic hc-x1000?

A: Should work as the HC-X1000 offers the requisite XLR phantom power.

Q: 2. Which of the 2 microphones is better for weddings Rode VideoMic NTG or Rode VideoMic Pro+?

A: The Videomic Pro Plus would be a better choice. It can handle higher SPL and is more directional.

Q: 3. Thinking of purchasing 2 of these for a podcast, host/guest style. Would these be compatible to connect to a zoom H4n, I’d likely would have to purchase an xlr adapter right?

A: That is correct.

Q: 4. If I have two subjects in one camera shot? Do I need two shotgun mics?

A: Shotgun mics are highly directional and are meant to reduce side noise. If your subjects are stationary and shoulder to shoulder, then one shotgun would probably be ok to capture general speech. If the subjects are stationary, but further apart, then yes you would need two shotguns. If the subjects are moving around in a shot, then the mic would need to be on a boom pole and following the talent.

Q: 5. Can I plug microphone into the canon c100?

A: This mic is designed to work with a camera that has a 3.5mm input, a mobile device or to connet USB directly to a computer. Rode does say that you can use a Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter, BH #ROVXLRP to connect into the mic preamp of a camera with 48 volt phantom power, but I would suggest to use a camera shotgun mic with a balanced XLR output. A good example would be the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter, BH #ROVXLRP.

Q: 6. will this microphone work with a macbook pro?(late 2016)

A: Yes it will. You will just need a standard USB connection on the Macbook Pro for it to work.

Q: 7. What is the part number of a deadcat I can purchase for use with the Zoom M3?

A: Zoom has confirmed that the Zoom HWS-6 Hairy Windscreen (BH #ZOHWS6) will fit the Zoom M3 MicTrak Stereo Shotgun Microphone and Recorder.

Q: 8. What is the rated distance range from the mic to the subject, and how do the VideoMic NTG and VideoMic Pro+ compare in that respect? The NTG seems well-suited for near-range subjects such as an in-office zoom meeting with laptop, but how far away can they capture clear audio? Thanks.

A: In general, most all shotguns have a maximum quality pickup range of 1-3 feet from the audio source. This would apply to both the NTG and VideoMic Pro+. Both are great sounding microphones, with the NTG offering a bit more versatility in terms of usb and smartphone connections.

Q: 9. where can I purchase a spare cord?

A: The Rode SC10 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRRS Cable (B&H # ROSC10) is the same cable that is included with the VideoMic NTG.

Q: 10. For two-person podcasts (host and guest), will this mic work well assuming both people are sitting 2-3’ from the mic?

A: That distance will work either from a table top stand or a suspended arm.
