The Tiffen 82mm Warm Black Diffusion/FX 1/4 Filter diffuses strong light entering the lens and produces a glowing effect. While the resulting image appears softer and ethereal, there is little loss of clarity or detail. This filter works by diffusing the light entering the lens with small aberrations; by spreading the light more evenly, a soft glow is created rather than the sharp, well-defined image when shooting without a filter. In addition to the diffusion provided, a warming effect is also integrated into the filter helping to further balance skin tones. This filter has a 1/4 density, providing a very subtle amount of softening.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How about the quality of lense as compared to g2

A: The quality of the glass in the SP 150-60mm Di VC USD is phenomenal. Mine is tack sharp to the point that I am hand holding it while shooting birds in the Spring. The only differences that I see are that they've improved the auto focus a little and weather sealed the unit better. I've gotten my lens a little wet, (not drenched), and it fared just fine. I've found zero issues with the auto focus. I'd probably save the money and get the cheaper lens as I don't see enough to make me spend the extra $$ to get the generation 2 lens.

Q: 2. This lens is good for wildlife photography ? with Nikon 7500

A: Yes, this lens would be suitable for wildlife photography.

Q: 3. What does the Tamron 150 x 600 lens weigh? I love it, but seems heavy

A: The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Canon, B&H # TA1506005C, weighs 4.30 lb (1.95 kg).

Q: 4. Is this lens compatible with the nikon D7500?

A: It is compatible.

Q: 5. Can I use this lens with a teleconverter and a D3200

A: You may use the Tamron 150-600mm with a teleconverter and D3200, however, you will lose autofocus.

Q: 6. Is this lens weather sealed?

A: There is a rubber gasket at the lens mount but otherwise I don't believe there are any claims about weather sealing.

Q: 7. Does the lens have international warranty? or the 6 year warranty is applicable only in the country one buys? For instance, am planning to buy in the US and use it mostly in India

A: Tamron's included 6 year warranty is valid in the USA.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with a D90?

A: I am sure it would be. It is compatible with my old d300.

Q: 9. You answered the question about the 1.4ext and auto focus but if I use MF on a tripod will the 1.4 and 2x canon extenders work properly using the 5D III. Thanks

A: The Canon extenders are only compatible with a select number of Canons pro level telephoto lenses; they are not compatible with lenses from other manufacturers such as the Tamron 150-600mm. You would need to use a third party teleconverter with this lens (Tamron, Kenko, Vivitar, etc.). Autofocus will not be supported, so you will need to manually focus the lens. http://bhpho.to/1pzmipP

Q: 10. Will the LowePro 11x26 lens case hold the Tamron 150-600 with the lens hood attached?

A: yes
