The Tiffen 95mm Coarse Thread Self-Rotating Hollywood Star Filter is designed to be used perpendicular to a point light source such as the sun, a light bulb, or a candle. Within the filter's surface is a combination of fine, etched line types. Those lines help to create a starburst effect with 14 asymmetric primary diffraction spikes that extend from the light source and are arranged in a pattern which approximates a cross.

This filter is most effective for pictures where the light source used to generate the starburst effect is a highlight with a significant degree of contrast from the rest of the image. It is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring that can be rotated in order to adjust the direction of the diffraction spikes and overall orientation of the starburst effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In the userguide of this product, I saw that it mentions about mouting HeadBall with this product. So does it come together with HeadBall or we must to buy separate one

A: This monopod does not come with a ball head, and you will need to purchase one separately. I recommend the Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods: http://bhpho.to/Iwakv7

Q: 2. Can it still rotate when you have the legs extended?

A: You can rotate the top of the Oben ACM-2400L 4-Section Aluminum Self-Standing Monopod with Mini-Legs when the legs are extended.

Q: 3. Hi,I'm thinking of buying the OBEN ACM-2400L along with 'Manfrotto 498RC2 Midi Ball Head with 200PL-14 QR Plate'. Are they compatible to one another? Manfrotto monopod with self-standing legs is a bit too long for my liking (31' with ball head)

A: Yes. The 498RC2 Ball Head will work on the Oben ACM-2400L. Since the monopod has both a 1/4-20 and 3/8 compatible male thread, any standard head will work.

Q: 4. What is the difference between the Hollywood Pro and Hollywood C Stand?

A: The Pro Version uses low profile Pro Legs. The advantage of the low profile Pro legs is easier positioning of the stand under furniture or other set items.

Q: 5. Somehow my mounting screw is gone from my monopod. Is there any way to purchase that part?

A: Please find the Oben Reversible 1/4 -20 and 3/8 -16 mounting stud at the following link: a href= http://bhpho.to/1DeGLoz target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1DeGLoz/a

Q: 6. Is it possible to remove the legs from the bottom cap, or purchase a bottom cap without the legs?

A: The legs are stored inside the monopod and that acts as the cap for the bottom when you are not using the legs. It is best described on page 7 of the user manual: https://bhpho.to/2waKRWW

Q: 7. Hello. I have the ACM2400 right now. Could I just purchase the 3 x feet assembly to make it ACM2400L? Or do I have to buy the ACM2400L to have the feet assembly?

A: You need to buy the acm2400L

Q: 8. Is anyone using this with a newer Sony Handycam Camcorder or similar? I am going to be using this with my brand new HDR-PJ670. I can see this as being a great replacement for a bulky tri-pod.

A: You still need to brace yourself with this even with the legs out and it would be necessary to purchase a ball head or pistol grip head to adjust for uneven surfaces to get a level. The legs on the tripod don't allow for you to adjust for horz/vert uneven ness in the ground the monopod is standing on.I can ajdust by grabbing railing, chairs or other surfaces to compensate but a pistol grip like Sliks would work much better.

Q: 9. Do you need a ball head?

A: You only really need a single axis head such as the Oben VH-R2. With a monopod you pan by simply rotating the entire monopod. Such a head is easier to adjust one-handed when using a monopod. Unlike a tripod, a monopod won't stand on its own while you use one hand to hold the camera/lens so they don't flop around while using the other hand to loosen and tighten the adjustment knob.

Q: 10. Which would be the better ballhead to use with this monopod, the Oben BE117 or BE117T?

A: We would suggest the BE117T to use with this monopod.
