The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is beige and features a Switchcraft TA4-Female connector for Sabine transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What length is the foam windscreen? Im trying to order a dead cat for the mic before I have it in hand and that spec isnt listed.

A: The Rycote Mini Windjammer provides optimum wind diffusion for smaller microphones. Like the standard Windjammer, the Mini Windjammer provides 10 - 12dB extra protection over standard windscreens. This windjammer wqill fit the above mic:

Q: 2. Does this mic work when directly connected to an Atomos Ninja?

A: Manufacturer (Atomos) does not list whether plugin Mic power is provided; a support ticket has been generated on Atomos.com The answer may depend on which model Atomos Ninja is being used.

Q: 3. This microphone came bundled with JVC GY-HM170UA 4KCAM Compact Professional Camcorder with Top Handle Audio, so it should be compatible, but I am having volume issues -- as in, there's not very much volume when recording/playback. Is there a phantom-power switch in the camera settings somewhere to give this mic some much-needed boost? All other settings are cranked, and yet recorded audio is weak beyond five feet.

A: Hi John, I don't know of any more setting. I'm also using a wireless mic that records strait to a sound board. However, I'll forward your question to our camera and sound guys, maybe they can help.

Q: 4. Hi When is the release date for this item?

A: The most recent estimated delivery date that Rode has provided is December 22nd.

Q: 5. This DeadCat for VideoMic Pro Plus? In the picture is not VideoMic Pro Plus. Can it fit VMPR+ ?

A: Yes it replaces the foam mic on the pro plus.

Q: 6. How do I connect my Audio Technica headphones to this mic? Is there an adapter I need to use so I can monitor the sound? (Sorry in advanced. Not a "tech person")

A: When the VideoMic NTG Hybrid is used as a USB mic, the 3.5mm output jack on the mic functions as a headphone output to monitor the sound. Since there is only one 3.5mm output, it can either be used to connect to an analog mic input on a camera, recorder, mixer, etc. OR it can be used as a headphone output when the mic is connected via USB.

Q: 7. How long is the connector wire to the camera? I will be using the NTG with a DJI OSMO 3 and iPhone, and it is mounted on a cold-shoe adapter at the base of the gimbal (so about 12" away from the port).

A: The length of the included cable is 12''.

Q: 8. Can this record the same level to both left and right tracks?

A: This is a mono microphone so it wil record both left anf right channels equally.

Q: 9. Through the 1/8th inch does it auto level to avoid clipping? does the stereo width utilize the 1/8th inch left right into cam

A: The Zoom M3 MicTrak Stereo Shotgun is a 32-Bit recorder and has no included limiter due to the extra large dynamic range.

Q: 10. Is it the original rode deadcat ?

A: Yes it is made by Rode. This model is made for specific compatibility with the Rode Videomic Pro Plus.

Good paper, thick, white, and sturdy. I bought the 9' wide one,.. only down side, it takes up some room and ya almost need two people to set it up. Once set up, it rocks!

I have only used this for one session. We loved it! It has a nice even color. It was already torn about a foot or so into the paper? Others have mentioned this as well, not sure what Savage's problem is, and why they can't package this without tearing it?? Oh well, we just taped it up, and you never see it anyway, unless you shoot from the edge at a real low angle, which we did not. Other wise, it worked out well, and would not hesitate to use more of their products!
