Utilizing a multi-layer coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens the Rokinon 135mm T2.2 Cine DS Lens answers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Canon EF Mount and it features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 135mm lens produces an 18.8° angle-of-view when used with a full-frame sensor camera. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of 2.6' from the lens. A removable lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box and the lens's threaded front accepts 77mm filter rings.

Ultra Multi Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.

Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings. Each lens in the Rokinon DS series share common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories such as follow focus units or iris motors don't have to be re-positioned.

"Declicked" aperture ring for smooth iris pulls.

A removable lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.

The lens opens up to T2.2, providing the capability for low light shooting or creating extremely shallow depth of field.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What’s the perfect cinema lens for canon t7?

A: The lens that is listed on this page, which is and 85mm, would be a great choice for a Telephoto lens with the T7. You would want to pair it with something wider, like the Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount, BH #RO2415C. https://bhpho.to/2uPswxt

Q: 2. is it compatible with a T5i? Whats the difference from a Samyang? O are they the same

A: Yes any EF lens will work with the T5i. It is a nice lens because it will give you a lot of separation from the subject and background, making your bokeh look creamy. Samyang, Rokinon and Bower are the same company that merged from Korea. I like the look of this lens, just remember you will need to back up from your subject and there is no autofocus it is all manual. Follow me on Instagram if you have anymore questions @bushfilms

Q: 3. Is this lens compatible with Canon 7D?

A: Yes, the lens and the 7D will both EF mounts, so this lens will mount on natively.

Q: 4. is it worth getting this version of the m43 Rokinon 85mm t1.5 over the cheaper one ( Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine AS IF UMC Lens )? Is there a noticeable improvement in image quality? (I would need this for both video and stills head & shoulders portraits)..thanks for any feedback

A: Side by side, I would think that the image quality would be about the same. The more expensive DS or Dual Side lens line has features that come into play when you have a set of them. You get the Dual Side focus markings, unified aperture and focus gear ring distance, (simplifying lens changes) and color matching. If you do not intend to get a DS set and plan more casual use, then save some money and get the less expensive one. If you plan more intensive video use then spend the money, get a set of DS lenses and enjoy the benefits.

Q: 5. Will this lens fit on a sony a7sIII?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 6. Will my canon 2x extender fit on this lens?

A: Generally speaking, Canon 2x extenders are for Canon L lenses 135mm and over. Other combinations are not supported or recommended. That being said, you could try the combination and see if it fits. (Be careful the protruding glass element of the extender does not touch the rear glass element of the lens itself particularly with the lens is focused at infinity. It is unlikely a problem but caution is a good thing.) Look for loss of image quality in the form of poorer focus and chromatic aberration.

Q: 7. will this work with nikon dslr cameras?

A: Yes, you can use this on Nikon DSLR's or any Nikon F mount camera. Do know it is manual only with no auto focus or electronic control of the aperture. It is optimized for video but works perfectly for stills as well.

Q: 8. Is a lens filter able to be used simultaneously with the lens hood?

A: Yes, you can use a filter and the hood at the same time. Remove the hood, attach the filter, attach the hood and start shooting.

Q: 9. How bad is the focus breathing on this? I have the 85mm and it's pretty heavy.

A: On this Rokinon 135mm Cine DS model, the breathing is minimized.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatible with the Z-CAM E2?

A: The Z Cam E2 has an MFT mount. Instead you would need BH #RO135T22MFT which is the MFT mount version of the lens. https://bhpho.to/2S7LuXW

A true cine lens masterpiece! Corner to corner this lens is razor sharp even with the aperture wide open. No noticeable chromatic aberrations either. The wide aperture and long focal length make this an uncompromising telephoto lens. Smashing results at an incredible price! If quality is your priority, I would highly recommend this lens!
