Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work on the Canon RF 24-70 2.0 Lens?

A: The Tiltaing Mini Matte Box (B&H# TIMBT15) will not fit on the f/2 aperture Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM Lens (B&H# CA28702LRF) -- not to be confused with the f/2.8 aperture Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens (B&H# CA2470RF) with which it can be used -- because it cannot accept a lens with a filter thread over 82mm.

Q: 2. Is it the same deflector plate regardless of size of the Rapid Box?

A: The 20 and 26 speedlight Rapid boxes use the smaller 2030DP while the 36 and 48 studio versions of the Rapid box suggest the larger 2040DP. The speedlight Duo version could use either, though I prefer the larger 2040DP for this model.

Q: 3. What is the cage brand set up shown in the image?

A: That is a Tilta cage in the photo.

Q: 4. Is it possible to have a variable ND filter in front of the lens and behind the mattebox? Perhaps using adapters and/or step up and down rings

A: Yes it is possible. You will have to consider the size of the lens, the filter and the matte box adapter rings.

Q: 5. Without the bolt, what's the diameter of the hole in te middle? Would it fit in a 8mm shaft?

A: The center of the plate is a touch smaller than 8mm. And the plate is not designed to work with the softbox without the screw and bolt.

Q: 6. What is the largest circular filter size allowed for by the female threading on the adapter ring? Would it be possible to use an 82mm filter with a 77mm step down ring to attach to the adapter ring to use inside the matte box for example?

A: According to Tilta 85mm would be the largest. A 77mm to 82mm step up ring would allow you to use the 82mm clamp on attachment with an 82mm filter on a 77mm lens.

Q: 7. All of my lenses are 67mm diameter. So if I use the 67mm adapter that comes with this to attach the matte box will I still be able to use my 67mm circular filters that I bought like my VND?

A: Yes, you will be able to. Just put the filter on the lens, and then the matte box over it.

Q: 8. Does this work with the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm f/2.8 II POWER O.I.S. Lens?

A: Yes it will, you will just need to add the 58mm adapter. https://bhpho.to/2MSIRuA

Q: 9. I'm considering getting this for use with my Panasonic UX-90. Is there enough clearance over the matte box for the overhang of the built-in mic/handle?

A: We are not aware of this being able to work with the UX90. The only option for a hood we are aware of is the one it comes with. Using screw on filters is the better option over a matte box. The camera is not designed for a matte box.

Q: 10. Does this show vignetting when using wider angle lenses like Sony 24mm F1.4 GM paired with Sony A7SIII?

A: We do not believe there would be any vignetting.
