The Audix ADX40 overhead microphone is a professional solution for capturing stage performances, choirs, live bands, worship gatherings, presentations, etc. The miniature pre-polarized condenser capsule features a modular element design. This model ships with a hypercardioid element although cardioid and omnidirectional are available as options.

The cardioid polar pattern is ideal for general sound reinforcement applications, as it provides a generous pick up area while minimizing off-axis noise and feedback. The wide frequency response and low signal-to-noise ratio ensure accurate signal reproduction throughout the entire range. The ADX40 is designed to hang from an overhead position and includes the MC40 wire hanger, 30 foot cable and APS910 preamplifier / power supply.

The ADX40 features a pre-polarized condenser capsule with a modular element design. Cardioid, hypercardioid and omnidirectional capsule are interchangeable for added flexibility.

This model ships with a hypercardioid element providing a focused pick up area and maximum rejection of off-axis residual noise that can cause feedback.

The wide, linear frequency response provides accurate signal reproduction throughout the spectrum.

The miniature profile allows the ADX40 to remain easily concealed from view.

The APS910 provides a standard XLR output, preamplifier and 9 to 52V phantom power from an external source.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Wheels

A: Being that the riser for this stand is tapered at 1 1/8 at the bottom, you can use the Manfrotto 299BBASE Wheeled Light Stand Base with Universal Head B&H # MA299BBASE which accepts the riser. An image is shown below for reference.

Q: 2. what is the weight of the stand?

A: 10.75' with out the arm stand only

Q: 3. How long is the is the rod when the legs are unattached?

A: If you mean just the vertical part of the stand, that is the riser and it is about 40 inches long, plus the 5/8 pin and bottom receiver. The minimum combined height of the turtle base legs plus the riser is 4.75 feet (about 57 inches)

Q: 4. I want to do some flatlay(overhead) photo with this c-stand. Do I need to buy another piece of equipment to attach my ballhead on this stand?

A: A combination of the Kupo Baby Ball Head Adapter B&H # KUKG014212 fitted over a Kupo Baby 5/8 Grip Arm Pin B&H # KUKG002212, can insert into the grip head on the end of that C-stand. The Ball Head Adapter has a 3/8 screw for any ball head.

Q: 5. (1) The load capacity says 22 lbs. Is that measurement based on the top two risers when they would lose their grip and collapse due to weight? (2) If I have the center column in a different base supporting 80+ lbs, wouldn't the bottom portion of the center column support this weight?

A: 22l bs full extended. And the system will have no problem supporting 80lbs when properly pay loaded

Q: 6. Does this work on unleveled plains?

A: No, this version have fixed legs. You'll need to get the sliding leg version: Impact LS-CS40M

Q: 7. What secures the risers in place after positioning and tightening? Is it the screw pressing against the riser or is there a 360 design squeezing the riser?

A: The riser offers tension control pipe grommets for locking in place.

Q: 8. Lost the screw to tighten the riser to the turtle base. Is that something I can buy separately? Thank you

A: You may purchase the replacement screw through Impact directly by calling 1-212-594-2120 or e-mail to info@impactstudiolighting.com.

Q: 9. Can I attach a Kino Flo 4' 4 Bank to this C Stand? Is this stand all I need to purchase or does it need further adapters?

A: You can attach a kino, you just need plenty of sandbags. I bought the ones from Digital Juice and they failed soon after buying with not a lot of use.

Q: 10. I have an AB400 with a beauty dish, but I need a stand with a boom arm. Does this set come ready for me to use or do I need any extra parts to mount my strobe?

A: Your Bee should be able to screw directly on one end the arm (the end that doesnt have the bracket). Use it with my Einstein this way - nothing extra need)
