Q: 1. does it have a headphone output?

A: No, but it is an excellent microphone.

Q: 2. Does this mic work with the Canon C100 MKII? I tried using the Videomic Go with the camera but that wont work.

A: If you are interested in using the 1/8 mic jack on the camera body, you will need a battery powered mic. The Rode VideoMic is powered by a single 9V battery and is compatible with the Canon C100 mkII.

Q: 3. I am getting a static like sound at times and wonder what the source may be?

A: Random static sounds my be due to a possible defection in the cabling connecting the mic to the camera /recorder, or a loose connection of the jack entering the recording device.

Q: 4. compatible with panasonic lumix cameras?

A: Yes. This mic has a 3.5mm male connector and runs on a 9V battery, so will work with any camera that has a 3.5mm mic in jack.

Q: 5. Is this particular Rycote suspension sold on its own?

A: Unfortunately the Rycote mount for the VideoMic is not available separately.

Q: 6. Can this work on a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact cellphone?

A: Hello Simon, if the phone has a TRRS 1/8" connection you would need to get the SC4 as well. The VideoMic comes with a TRS 1/8" cable for DSLRs.

Q: 7. This doesn't work with my d5200 Nikon camera but it seems to have the correct input thingy, I don't know what is wrong?

A: The Rode VideoMic is compatible with the D5200. It is difficult to determine what your issue may be. You may check the battery is fresh and inserted correctly into the mic, and powered on. You can also check that the cable is fully inserted into the camera, and audio settings are correct in your camera.

Q: 8. Compatible with the Blackmagic cinema camera?

A: If the camera has a 1/8 mini mic input then yes. Most pro cameras have XLR inputs.

Q: 9. Does this work on a Nikon D800?

A: As long as your D800 has a mic input, it'll work. Great mic. I have three of them.

Q: 10. does this work with a nikon d3200 dslr camera?

A: This mic will complement your camera very well. It is fully compatible with the camera's external microphone port.
