Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this the imported version or the american version?

A: In situations where B&H offers both a USA and an imported version of a product, we label each version clearly and explicitly. If a product does not have an indication either way, it is understood to be by default a USA product. In situations where only a USA version is offered it will not be labeled USA.

Q: 2. does this lens work with a Nikon D7100?

A: This lens would work very well with your D7100. I use mine on my D7000 and D90 often. It is the wide lens answer to my telephoto lens and I love it.

Q: 3. Compatible with a d70?

A: Yes, the AF-S lenses are compatible with the D70.

Q: 4. How do my professional brothers carry this lens? In the bush it's hard enough to carry gear and still be flexible enough to shoot at a waterhole. I will definitely be at least 200ft from my subject, my armed-guide will watch out for approaching predators. I thought about leaving it mounted to the camera body but the dust is everywhere. Is there a particular tube container out there? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

A: The lens comes with a lens case.If you do want to leave it on the camera the best is a cover for the lens and camera. There are many brands and models. This is one of the best a href= http://bhpho.to/18Pds1N. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/18Pds1N./aAnd you will need a eyepiece and that depends on the camera you have. This is the link the eyepieces a href= http://bhpho.to/1AIfvM3. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1AIfvM3./a

Q: 5. Besides the difference in weight, would the FL version of this lens be any better than the VR ? Optics would be my only comparison. A tad difference in AF response may not matter much to me.

A: Be careful, BOTH versions have VR. The newest version has updated optics and is lighter. It is the best of both worlds. That is why Nikon discontinued the older version.

Q: 6. Is this lens compatible with the D610?

A: The Nikon 70-300mm lens is fully compatible with the D610, yes.

Q: 7. Do I get this one or the Sigma 70-300mm ? I currently have Nikkon AF Nikkor 70-300 4-5.6G .....

A: I like this Nikkor lens a lot. I shoot it wide open and sharpness is very good (not excellent but a quick shot of mild unsharp mask in PS cleans it up nicely.) The auto focus is fast enough for birds in flight and it tracks well.

Q: 8. Compatible with Nikon D3000?

A: The Nikon AF-S 18-55mm lens is fully compatible with the D3000.

Q: 9. Is this lens compatible with the D3100?

A: Yes, it is 100% compatible with the D3100.

Q: 10. Is this good for a Nikon D80?

A: yes
