A: The smartlav+ is designed with a jack that shares both mic and headphones on the same connector. If your PC features only a single jack for both as well, the mic will work. If your PC has a jack for mic and a separate jack available for headphones you will require an adapter such as the Rode SC3 which allow the mic to be connected to a standard 3.5mm mic jack.

I bought these for monitoring/mixing in my home studio. The sound is clean, the balance is excellent; it is easy to distinguish each track and hear all the detail I need to add/adjust effects and mix down. In short, I find these excellent for the purpose and don't feel the need to spend significantly more (and you'd have to to get a meaningfully better sound). There's a reason these are an industry standard. 5

Not surprisingly, Sennheiser has made a great pair of headphones. I use them for monitoring when recording and mixing, and for general use when listening to music. I love the sound quality and the flat frequency response. They're pretty darn big, which could be good or bad depending on your wants/needs. I don't mind it, and they fold up pretty compactly. Overall a great pair of phones. 5

I have been using these cans since college, where I did both audio editing on a daw as well as some video editing. These cans have a very fully response and do not leave your audio feeling small. Great to sit down with and listen to your favorite cd with also! 5

Amazing quality sound and construction at a fraction of the cost of the nearest competing product. The design is so perfect, it has remained unchanged for nearly 20 years. My first pair finally broke out after about 11 years and a lot of very hard use. The old speakers still worked, but they had been dropped so many times, it was too much for the housing. Not even tape could hold them together. If you drop then from chest height onto a solid floor or table, that will most likely crack the shell or puncture the ear cover. But they will work just fine. Just treat them well, they should last a lifetime. 5

I tried all of the comparably priced headphones and these won out on sound quality. They're also well constructed and I predict they'll last some time... I don't know if I would use them as studio monitors but for enjoyable listening, they're definitely well suited. 5

I use it for school, and at home for when I am using programs such as Pro Tools, Logic Audio, FL Studio. The Sennheiser HD 280's are comfortable, not heavy, great for mixing, and highly recommended for musical work. 5
