I use the lens on my 5D mostly in AF mode. The tripod mount is supplied and very convenient. It can be arranged around the lens as desired. A carrying bag and lens hood was also supplied with the order. The lens can be switched between different modes from still to moving shots with the use of the stabilizer. If the camera is capable of infrared, this lens will accomodate. On the down side, it's a little bulky being close to the same size as the 100-400mm. Another gem I purchased at B&H. 5

This lens is suitable for a variety of subjects. I'm using it for street scenes in New York City, people, pets, and architecture. With the 2.8 aperture you have the advantage in low light situations plus reduced depth of field for pleasing portraiture. You'll have to get used to the weight. This lens is heavier than most in it's class. I think of the weight as a reflection of the quality of the glass. 5

It's heavy but that was expected. I haven't had a chance to use my lens on a shoot yet but the the shots I have taken have been awesome! Can't wait to use it in a low-light shoot. 5
