Q: 1. I just purchased a Sony A7 from you. I have an NEX-7 so can use those lenses but I also have a large selection of various generations of Nikon lenses (vintages from my old F3 to current D800) that I would like to use on this body. What is the correct adapter. I see some from Metabones but they specifically indicate Nikon to NEX and not A7.

A: Yes it does. The foot of the adapter is designed to fit into Arca-Swiss type quick release assemblies, but can be removed to reveal a standard 1/4-20 thread size to connect to standard tripod heads and plates.

Q: 3. How do you install it? I put it on the lens but it won't click secure/tight.

A: There is nothing special about it. It connects to the camera like any Sony lens, and the lens connects to it like any Nikon lens connects to a Nikon camera.

Q: 4. Can This adapter works to attach my AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD (nikon Mount) to the Sony A7s ?

A: Yes, they are fully compatible.

Q: 5. Can this be used with NON-AI lenses? Their mechanism is different than AI and AIS lenses. Or will the same incompatibility with newer Nikon mounts occur due to the extra pin that sticks out on these Non AI lenses?

A: AF-D and AF-S G lenses will meter on this adapter. No lenses will autofocus. I don't think lenses earlier than AF-D should be used with it.

Q: 6. is Metabones Nikon G compatibel with nikon 200-400mm lens?

A: Yes. It will work with any Nikon lens -- older lenses with aperter rings and newer G lenses which have no aperture ring. With G lenses you set the aperture on the adapter.

Q: 7. Will vibration reduction on a lens such as the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II work with the Metabones MFT adapter and a Panasonic GH2 or GH3?

A: Vibration reduction, as well as any other electronic lens functions including autofocus, will not be retained when using the Metabones Nikon G Lens to Micro Four Thirds Lens Mount Adapter.

Q: 9. Do the numbers on the adapter correspond to the lens accurate f stops?

A: No they don't. When the Metabones adapter is installed, it overrides whatever f-stop you might set on the lens. In other words the Metabones adapter takes complete control of aperture. The numbers on the adapter range from F (for full wide open, I guess) through 1-6 to 7 which is fully stopped down. One can guess that halfway through the range from F to 7 might correspond with a mid-range lens aperture of about f8 or so, depending on the aperture range of the lens one is working with.

Q: 10. Can the Metabones Adaptor Nikon G to E Mount (Matt Black) be used with the Sony A7 or is only for the Sony NEX?
