Helmet camera would probably be the best but I want stills not video...

Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with a D5000 Camera?

A: Yes it is, any AF-S DX lens is compatible with a D5000

Q: 3. What does the ED on the lens stand for? the lens i want to replace does not have that on it

A: ED refers to Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element which minimizes chromatic aberration for superior optical performance.

Q: 4. can this lens be used with the nikon d5200?

A: Yes, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4G ED VR Lens is fully compatible with all current Nikon DSLR cameras, including the Nikon D5200 DSLR camera. As the lens uses Nikon's AF-S Silent Wave Motor, it will autofocus on all Nikon DSLR cameras.

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D5300?

Q: 6. Does this lense work with Nikon D200? Thanks...

Q: 7. I have this lens and a D3100. The lens still activates the flash and the autofocus works, but it will not engage the shutter to capture the picture. What am I doing wrong? The camera body works with other lenses.

A: That lens is compatible with that camera and should activate the shutter after it autofocuss. It could be defective or damaged. It is best that you contact us over the phones or chat to discuss it further.

Q: 8. Will this lense work with a Nikon D-50?

A: On the internet, look up Nikon's website for your location. They have a chart showing which lenses are compatible with which camera bodies. The short answer is Yes. But check it out for yourself first.

Q: 9. Will this lense work with my new nikon series 1 j 4 compact camera. ? I have heard that they have come out with a new lense for nikon series 1 cameras, does it mean my old VR lense is not compatible with my J 4? Would appreciate any help!

A: The Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras have a different mount from the Nikon DSLRs, so lenses such as the AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED Lens cannot mount on the Nikon 1 cameras. You would need an adapter to use Nikon DSLR lenses on the Nikon mirrorless cameras.

Q: 10. If I am shooting moving objects and I have currently the Nikon 55-300, is it worth the upgrade to the 70-300? What differences will I notice?

A: Im considering buying the 70-300. I just went to Best Buy to compare these 2 lenses side by side. I was impressed with both but the 70-300 auto focus was noticeably faster. Other than that there wasnt much difference. I think this lens will work better if you shoot sports. Also I like the manual focus ring on this lens better than the 55-300

I use for serious amateur photography, nature, etc. Very easy and results that are comparable to much more expensive lenses.

I got this lens as a gift and it is my first telephoto lens, so i was not sure what to expect but so far it has gone far beyond my expectations! I use it mainly for sports and animals, and it is perfect. The autofocus is fast and accurate, also the manual focusing is available even with autofocus on, which is nice to easily be able to correct it if it is wrong. The active focus is also useful when the subject is moving. The VR feature is superb when the lens is zoomed in all the way (reduces shakes). It is a great lens for portraits, the subject is vivid and the background blurs very smoothly. If you are new to photography, remember to bring a lens that is not telephoto in case you are too close to the subject (this happened to me the first time I used it!) overall it is a great lens and great for a wide variety of shooting.

This is not the biggest and the baddest of the zooms in this range, but it is the one I use most frequently. The picture quality is great and it's small size makes it easy to use on the go.

I purchased this lens for my wife as a Christmas gift and I have used one myself for the last 3 years. It was Manufacturer reconditioned and I paid less money from B&H than I could purchase a used one locally and without the risk a bad lens. I was amazed that I could not tell the lens from a new one - not even a spec of dust inside or out or scratch. I have used the lens and my wife also for photographing wildlife and it works great especially at about 275mm or less and F8 or greater. We get many tack sharp images of still subjects at ISO200. For birds in flight or action ISO400 and F6.3 or 7.1 works very well in aperature priority on a sunny day. I have heard this called a sleeper lens and I believe it's true. A great lens when used correctly. Correct exposure is very important in getting very sharp shots with this lens. Also has excellent Vibration Reduction for lower light conditions.

I had been trying to decide on the 70-300 vs 55-300 and I read a lot of reviews. I called B&H and the representative told me they had a great deal on the 70-300 lens if I bought it refurbished. I decided to buy the refurbished lens and I am really glad that I made that choice. The lens is not that heavy as per reviews and I have already taken some great outdoor pictures of birds with it. Can't wait to use it again.I am very pleased with the refurbished lens it looked like brand new when I recieved it. B&H gives great prices, ... There's nobody better. ...
