The Tiffen 72mm Clear Filter is a simple, clear filter with a 1x filter factor and is designed to provide general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping to prevent dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from reaching or damaging your lens. This filter features standard coating for helping to reduce flare and improve light transmission.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work with the Metabones SpeedBooster EF for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera?

A: All I can offer is that the Tamron 16-300mm lens is designed to fit the Canon APS-C mount. If other ASP-C lenses fit the Metabones, then this one will as well. I use the Tamron lens on my Canon 80D, which is an APS-C camera.

Q: 2. Does this lens feature manual focus override, that means autofocus can be over-ridden by rotating thelens focus ring while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway?

A: Yes to your question. Precisely as you asked your question, while holding shutter release half way you can manually change the focus with the manual focus ring. Guess I could have just said yes.

Q: 3. IS this lens compatable with the Canon 6D Camera?

A: This lens was not intended for it. The Tamron 16-300mm lens is exclusively designed for APS-C sensor typ cameras, while the Canon 6D is a full frame camera. Besides the optical shortcomings, functional problems may occur. I have used that lens with a Canon 70D, which has an APS-C sensor and experienced unrelaible exposure and occasional freeze-up of the camera. Inquiries at Canon were not very helpful. The lens worked absolutely flawless with an older Canon ti4 for which I actually bought the lens anyway as my light travel outfit. As to the lens itself, one has to remember the enormous zoom range when making any judgement or comparison to other lenses in regard to sharpness, distortion and other qualities. For the convenience of such zoom range, the optical performance of this lens is surprising. After recalibration at the factory, my lens shows decent sharpness at minimum distortions. Only the C/A is annoyingly strong and always requires editing. But at least I have my action shot with this lens range, which I would have otherwise lost while having to change lenses.

Q: 4. Has anyone used a remote control unit to zoom this lens?

A: Yes, you could use something along the lines of this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1344165-REG/libec_zc_lp_zoom_control_for_lanc_panasonic.html

Q: 5. Is there a zoom controller that would work with this lens on a tripod?

A: No zoom controller is compatible with the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f/4-6.3 II ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens on a tripod. This is because it is not a servo-motorized zoom lens.

Q: 6. Is the lens compatible with Canon EOS 100 D?

A: I have no idea. I shoot Nikon.

Q: 7. is it possible to buy Made in US or Japan version of lens Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon ?

A: There are not any companies which currently manufacture lenses in the USA. In this case Tamron manufacturers this lens in China which is the only country they make this lens in. There is not an option for a Japan made version or version from any other country.

Q: 8. Is this lens compatible with the D5000?

A: I have a Nikon D5100 and it works well with it. but It does hunt for focus slowly at max zoom. One other odd problem is that when the built-in flash is used, the lens casts a shadow at max wide.

Q: 9. In the overview description it talks about an optional 2X teleconverter. Which one is it?

A: Panasonic has not yet released a compatible teleconverter for the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f/4-6.3 II ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens.

Q: 10. Does the tripod foot have Ara-Swiss style rails?

A: The tripod collar of the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f/4-6.3 II ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens is not Arca-compatible.
