The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a Switchcraft TA4-Female connector for specific* Electro-Voice transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This great mic is even greater. It now comes with an SC-15 cable. ???

A: Yes, the Rode SC15 Lightning USB Type-C to Lightning Accessory Cable (B&H # ROSC15) and the Rode SC16 Straight USB Type-C to Right-Angle USB Type-C Cable (B&H # ROSC16) are now included in the box with the Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone along with the Rode SC10 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRRS Cable (B&H # ROSC10) and the SMR-7 Shock Mount.

Q: 2. Can I order it with a black shockmount instead of bright red? Some reviews show it with a black one.

A: I don't think that is possible as there is no option to pick the color of the shock mount.

Q: 3. How can I monitor the output through headphones if I'm using the 3.5mm to connect to my Canon 80D?

A: This mic connects to the 3.5mm mic input of your Canon EOD 80D camera, and monitoring would be done from the headphone output of the camera.

Q: 4. which is better for mukbang or asmr recording, VideoMic NTG or VideoMic Pro+?

A: It really depends on what the mic will be connecting to. When used with a camera, the NTG would be operating as an analog mic and functioning much like the VideoMic Pro+, producing comparable high-quality audio with similar features. The main difference for the NTG is the built in interface which enables you to connect it directly to a computer via the USB cable to operate as a digital mic. The VideoMic Pro+ can also be connected to a computer, but a separate USB interface is required. Both are excellent options for recording, podcasting or livestreaming, so you can't wrong with either mic.

Q: 5. Does anyone else have issues with the auto on/off on a Lumix S1H?

A: The VideoMic NTG is compatible with the Lumix S1H and the auto on/off function for the mic should work properly. We are not aware of any issues. I would recommend disconnecting the mic and turning the power off for both the camera and mic, then starting over for the setup. Connect the mic to the camera with power off for both, then turn on power for the camera and the mic should power on automatically. When you are ready to turn off power for the camera and mic, use the power button on the camera only and don't touch the power button on the mic. The camera's power button should function as the master power control for the mic. Rode does note that if you manually switch the mic on using its power button and then plug it into the camera or turn the power on for the camera separately, you will need to switch the mic's power off manually. So to make sure the auto on/off feature operates correctly, start with the power off for both the mic and camera, then only use the camera's power button to control them. If you are still experiencing problems with the auto on/off feature, I suggest contacting tech support at Rode directly. They are very helpful in resolving most issues and will be able to confirm whether you may need to update firmware or if there is another issue preventing the mic from functioning properly. You can reach Rode by phone at 562-364-7400. Their US office is located in California.

Q: 6. Any way to PAUSE while recording?

A: Yes, the Zoom F3 2-Input / 2-Track Portable Field Recorder can be paused while recording.

Q: 7. Will this work with Rode's SC8 Dual-Male 1/8" TRS Cable as long as it's plugged into a camera (TRS jack)?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 8. Does this mic work when directly connected to an Atomos Ninja?

A: Manufacturer (Atomos) does not list whether plugin Mic power is provided; a support ticket has been generated on Atomos.com The answer may depend on which model Atomos Ninja is being used.

Q: 9. Can I use the Rode NTG Video mic with my iPad Pro for voiceovers and then use the 3.5mm jack to hear the recorded track (specifically on LumaFusion)?

A: Yes you can. I don't know if your iPad Pro is a TRRS or a lightning connector. If it's a lightning connector you will need one of these. BH #APLAADAP that is the B&H part number for the 3.5mm to lightning adapter. You have 12 tracks on your Fusion that you can record your VO onto and then edit as you wish.

Q: 10. Hi When is the release date for this item?

A: The most recent estimated delivery date that Rode has provided is December 22nd.
