Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the Focus Demand when connected to Blackmagic Studio 4k Pro cameras?

A: There is not an option to adjust the sensitivity of the Blackmagic Design Focus Demand on the Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Pro at this time.

Q: 2. Focus Demand will work with Sigma EF 150-600mm lens ?

A: The Blackmagic Design Focus Demand should work with the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens for Canon EF so long as the lens mount being used supports electronic lens communication.

Q: 3. Are the three silver posts removable? thanks

A: The Canon FPD-400D Digital Focus Servo Demand for Canon Lens Control Kits (B&H# CAFPD400D) does feature three spokes. While technically removeable with tools, doing so would void the warranty, so we are not able to recommend it.

Q: 4. How many rotations does this focus demand spin to track the full focus of the lens? 1 or 2?

A: The rotation on the Canon FPD400D Digital Focus Demand is entirely dependent on the throw of the lens it is attached to.

Q: 5. Can I use this with me GH6 to control my Micro Four Thirds lenses? Specifically, the Summilux lenses?

A: No, the Blackmagic Focus Demand is only compatible with Blackmagic Design Cameras and compatible lenses. Leica Summilux lenses do not provide electronic communication between the lens and the camera body.

Q: 6. Will this work with any MFT lens? or is there a list of MFT lenses that are compatible

A: Yes. It will work with any MFT lens with electronic focus through the mount.

Q: 7. hello friends! i heard that this combination should work! i have a new CANON 18-80 CN-E LENS ... plus a METABONES Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x. new BMD Studio 4K Pro Camera. electronics work (lens communicates with the camera). i cannot get the zoom or focus demands to work! is there anything in-camera that i need to do? i have both USB-C cables run to both ports on camera. i cannot seem to find a manual for either focus or zoom demand. are there firmware updates that need to be done to either camera or demands? please help me figure this out. anyone out there with the same setup? thank you! blessings!

A: You will need to update the firmware on the camera to version 7.4.2 or higher in order for the demands to work. When you connect the the Zoom Demand to the camera, a white light should light up and stay on. If it doesn't light up or if it blinks, it's an indicator that the camera needs to be updated in order for it to work. You can find the camera updates on the Blackmagic Design Support page.

Q: 8. I have an URSA Broadcast with EF mount and Canon CN-E 18-80mm. Will this work on this, now or in the future?

A: Unfortunately, Black Magic at this time does not have a tested list of lenses that work with the Zoom and Focus Demand.

Q: 9. Does this work on the new Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera with the Fujinon XA20sx8.5BRM-K3 ENG Lens ?

A: yes, this works with the new Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera with the Fujinon XA20sx8.5BRM-K3 ENG Lens.

Q: 10. Will this support the Pocket Cinema 6k cameras in the future for users that want to use existing Pocket 6k side by side with Studio 4k Pro/Plus in live event settings?

A: No. The following unit is made and designed for the Studio Plus and studio pro camera systems to be used with power zoom lens.

I'm just learning about this camera, but, getting great shots & it has so many features. I like the swing out LCD screen & how the controls pop up on the screen to tell what you need to know about them. I like the size especially. Small, but, powerful.

I use the G12 to document appraisals of personal property. Often I am forced to photograph items at close range, in low light conditions, and where a large depth of field is required. The camera excels at it. As an unexpected bonus, the lens is listed as a choice in Lightroom 3's lens correction feature. I use that feature to remove the pincushion effect that comes from photographing rectilinear objects, close-up, with a wide angle lens -- automatically. The controls are very intuitive, and I was able to master my applications in a couple of hours.

For over 30 years, I've worked as a photographer photographing both news and corporate work. I've used lots of different cameras. The Canon G 12, is one of the most versatile I've used. It is quiet like a rangefinder, compact, has a fast buffer and produces very good files in low to moderate iso's. One of the best features it the articulating LCD panel that can be adjusted into a number of different positions. When you want to be stealthy or to have a camera while walking around, the G12 works well.

Our daughter was convinced that she needed a bigger, more expensive camera with different lenses, etc. She could not have been more surprised by the high resolution and photo quality with the portability of the popular point and shoots. Bigger, more expensive cameras cannot compete with this camera, which gets taken everywhere. And isnt that the point?

Took very nice and sharp picture. Great stablization. Although some reviews mentioned about the size not being pocketable, I really like the way it looks and the great quality of pictures it took.

I am a photographer, but don't want to carry my 5D to the zoo and ball games!! This is great to leave in my purse. Takes wonderful, spontaneous photos, even on Auto. Focus is incredible! I'm getting a little spoiled by it in fact. Downsides? Viewfinder is poor. Shot in RAW and could'nt open the files in Bridge. Contacted Canon and they said there wasn't an update for the RAW files yet and I would have to open those in their software... which I don't llike. Also, recycle time is a little slow, maybe not as much if you use the viewfinder and not the screen.
