This Whirlwind Medusa Multitrack Series 6 Channel 1/4" TRS Male to XLR Female Fanout Snake Cable is constructed of multipair cable with a heat-shrunk fanout at each end. The cabling consists of heavy duty, flexible Belden CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire. The fanouts feature genuine Whirlwind 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors, and all channels are numbered.

Snake cables can be used to interface multitrack recorders or outboard equipment to mixing consoles, or to combine several balanced (microphone) cables into one smaller diameter multipair cable. Snake cables make setup and teardown much faster and easier, with less tangling and clutter than would otherwise be the case.

Q: 1. Does the come with a cold shoe mount on top like the DR-70?

A: The mount on top of the Tascam DR-60DmkII and DR-70D is a camera-mount screw attachment, not a cold shoe mount. This is used to attach the recorder to the tripod mounting socket on the bottom of a camera. The DR-60DmkII and DR-70D recorders both include a tripod mounting socket on the bottom as well. This allows you to mount the camera with the recorder attached together onto a tripod or to just mount the recorder onto a tripod by itself.
