This Whirlwind Medusa Multitrack Series 8 Channel 1/4" TRS Male to XLR Female Fanout Snake Cable is constructed of multipair cable with a heat-shrunk fanout at each end. The cabling consists of heavy duty, flexible Belden CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire. The fanouts feature genuine Whirlwind 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors, and all channels are numbered.

Snake cables can be used to interface multitrack recorders or outboard equipment to mixing consoles, or to combine several balanced (microphone) cables into one smaller diameter multipair cable. Snake cables make setup and teardown much faster and easier, with less tangling and clutter than would otherwise be the case.

Q: 1. does this use multiple power options at once to be able to hot swap while recording?( have AA batteries and able to hotswap npf batteries)

A: Yes, the F6 will automatically switch between power sources when they are depleted or disconnected without interruption, so you can continue to record while switching power sources. The device will prioritize power sources in the following order: USB-C, Sony L Series, AA Batteries.

Q: 2. Can two F6's be synced together to get 11 or 12 synced inputs?

A: There isn't a direct link function. However, if you connect 2 F-series units (including the F4, F8 or F8n) via the timecode in/out, and you turn audio clock sync on, then the clocks and timecode clocks will be synced. Then you can simply join the audio files from the 2 SD cards in post production.
