Q: 1. What is quality/reputation of Impact softboxes? I see Bowens Lumiair are double Impact? Is the Durability or make twice as good?

A: I own two Impact Luxbank Duo stripboxes and both are A quality. Far better than Buff, more robust than even Elinchrom. Note that these serve for both strobes & hot lights (read: cinema lights), so the material is thick and sturdy enough to withstand high heat. The only negative is the chintzy branding logo; however, other than that, a professionally built softbox that works fantastically well.

Q: 2. Can you charge the battery via (micro) USB?

A: No, you can not charge via USB.

Q: 3. Does this require an HDMI mini or micro cable for output?

A: This particular model requires High Speed HDMI micro cable.

Q: 4. How is this camera in low light compared to the g7 or gh4? And is it just as good as the gh5?

A: I have a G7 and a G85 There are YouTube videos that seem to demonstrate that the G7 and G85 are much better in low light than the GH4, but it's hard to tell how accurate those tests are since the luminance levels in the G7 and G85 can only be set to 0255 and 16255, whereas the GH4 shoots at 16235. Meanwhile, the G85 uses a larger sensor area when recording video than the G7, which still uses a larger sensor area than the GH4. The bigger the sensor area is, the more the camera has to downscale, and the more the camera downscales, the finer the sensor noise becomes. All this is to say that the G85 will have the best low light performance that the difference probably isn't big enough to determine which camera you should buy. That said, the GH5 is pretty fantastic in low light compared to any of the previous generation of cameras. It uses the entire sensor to record video and downscales the image from 6K, and the GH5 has a new, larger sensor compared to any of these other cameras. If you have the money, the GH5 is a no-brainer.

Q: 5. microphone input?

A: Yes, it does have a 3.5mm TRS stereo mini input.

Q: 6. Is it possible to edit Raw images in camera with this model? If not, is it possible to transfer Raw images to your phone with the app, or is it just jpeg?

A: Yes, you can edit the RAW file in camera, but the saveed image is a JPEG.

Q: 7. DP Review said this as a con: Can not select a portion of the screen for touchpad AF but also said this Touchpad AF lets you select a focus point on the rear screen while using the viewfinder ... What is the difference? Is this different from the G7 touch focusing?

A: The LCD screen on the back of the camera has a touchpad built into it so you can tap to focus right on the screen. It does not cover the entire screen, however, so a select portion of the screen is unavailable for that touch-focus option. It is similar to the G7 touch focusing, and most touch-screen focusing cameras, they usually don't cover 100% of the screen.

Q: 8. Does the monitor have a flip horizontal (mirror) option?

A: Yes, this monitor will flip.

Q: 9. How does this compare to the Nikon F1 J5 in terms of video?

A: The video on the G85 will be much better with the native 4k in 24 and 30 fps as well as the really good 100mbps codec. it's a very similar video quality as the Panasonic GH4. So it is way better then any Nikon CX camera

Q: 10. 32bit float/wide dynamic range?

A: No.
