The Formatt 77mm HD/DV Soft Effect Clear 1 Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass Filter is designed with the HD (High Definition) shooter in mind. Today's HD lenses are ultrasharp and often generate an image that is not as flattering to a subject as one might desire. This incredible technological breakthrough gives HD shooters the touch of softness they want but with no resulting loss of contrast or detail.

Using a sophisticated series of tiny "lenslets", the filter allows a certain amount of light to pass through unaffected. The rest is bounced around inside creating spherical aberration, avoiding the risk of secondary focus at short focal lengths, as may happen with other so called "soft" filters. These lenslets eliminate the moire patterns often generated by the highly sensitive surfaces in today's HD lenses and digital sensors.

A: Unfortunately no, the multiview layout is a 2x2 grid and is not alterable.

A: No, unfortunately the B525 does not have any extra software besides the occasional firmware update.

A: Incompatibility with the SDI output on the Blackmagic Design MultiView 4 HD with SDI capable monitors can either be incompatible resolution and frame rates, SDI level, or the port is defective. A: 1) Yes both HDMI and SDI are active with the Mulitiview output. 2) The ability to Solo a single input is available through the DIP switches on the side. The bottom of the MV has a chart for the DIP switch settings also found in the manual. 3) With the MV4 you can display the 2x2 or Solo modes.

A: MultiView 4 HD can be used with Blackmagic's Videohub Control Software that allows for audio input source selection with sources that have embedded audio; the multiview will display the audios metering.

A: It will not. The maximum input it supports is 1080p.

A: Yes, so long as the studio monitor can accept the resolution and frame rate that you set the MultiView to put out.

A: No, each input is independent. We have several different resolutions coming into ours. From Blackmagic's website: "You get full frame re‑synchronization on all SDI inputs, which means that they can be any video standard and frame rate, and each input is completely independent of the others."
