The Formatt 82mm Soft Gold 1 Enhancing Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass Filter is another incredible innovation from Formatt. This filter has been specifically designed for today's High Definition cameras which tend to be ultrasharp and somewhat unforgiving when it comes to skin tones.

The beauty of this filter is that it will still allow you to obtain lovely, softened images but without a noticeable loss of contrast. It will also correct for the bluish tint associated with some HD photography. As applied to portraiture, it will correct for unsightly skin blemishes and provide smoother, more flattering images of your subject.

Formatt, a company with three generations of professional filter-making experience, produces every filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, together with state of-the-art production technology, have resulted in a standard of optical excellence unmatched anywhere else.

Soft Gold filters use the latest developments in materials technology to soften outlines and enhance flesh tones, removing blueness and facial blemishes without distortion.

Tiny particles within the skin tone enhancing matrix bounce incoming light onto the reverse face of the glass filter; total internal reflection projects the light into the camera lens, refracted by the glass, softening the image but without losing contrast. The use of refraction eliminates the color split associated with diffusion.

Each filter is manufactured from Schott-Desag B270 Crown Optical Glass

It has absolute consistency in color and density to Kodak Wratten standards.

Its precision grinding and polishing result in unbeatable optical flatness that allows use on even ultra-long focal length lenses.

Filter edges are protected with a unique frame for maximum protection and easy handling.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you list the XQD type cameras it is compatible with?

A: The following mirrorless cameras can accept this CFExpress card. https://bhpho.to/2TNCSYV As for DSLRs, only two models can accept these cards. One would be the Nikon D6 and the other being the Canon EOS 1DX Mark III. https://bhpho.to/33acGuu

Q: 2. I know this only outputs a 1080 signal but will it accept multiple 4K SDI inputs and down convert?

A: It will not. The maximum input it supports is 1080p.

Q: 3. Would this be compatible with a Nikon d850?

A: Supposedly, with a camera firmware upgrade, you can use Cfexpress cards in the D850 but I don't think the upgrade is available yet.

Q: 4. Will these work in a single channel type A slot such as the Sony a7Sii?

A: No, CFexpress Type B and Type A are different sizes thus the Sony A7S III can only fit a CFexpress Type A or a SD card.

Q: 5. Will this card work with my D800?

A: No, the D800 takes CompactFlash which is an entirely different card from CFexpress.

Q: 6. Will this handle the 5R at 120fps?

A: Yes, not a problem.

Q: 7. how the audio works?

A: MultiView 4 HD can be used with Blackmagic's Videohub Control Software that allows for audio input source selection with sources that have embedded audio; the multiview will display the audios metering.

Q: 8. 1) Is it possible to simultaneously output from both the HDMI and SDI ports so as to drive to external displays with the quad signal ?2) When viewing the quad signal on an output display, can one view only one of the four quadrants enlarged, and if so, is this control capability found on the Multiview Menu or on the touchscreen of the Display Monitor3) And would a choice of one or two viewing quadrants simultaneously affect both the outgoing HDMI and SDI signals, or can it be selective ?

A: 1) Yes both HDMI and SDI are active with the Mulitiview output. 2) The ability to Solo a single input is available through the DIP switches on the side. The bottom of the MV has a chart for the DIP switch settings also found in the manual. 3) With the MV4 you can display the 2x2 or Solo modes.

Q: 9. Is this Type A or Type B? The description says "A," but some reviews and answers refer to it as B?!?

A: This is Lexar 320GB Professional CFexpress Type A Card.

Q: 10. It outputs HDMI but no SDI. Am I missing something in the manual? This is replacement. Wondering if no more Blackmagic.

A: Incompatibility with the SDI output on the Blackmagic Design MultiView 4 HD with SDI capable monitors can either be incompatible resolution and frame rates, SDI level, or the port is defective. Please try to use the Blackmagic MultiView application with a USB connection on computers to set up. The application can be seen on the left side of the support page after clicking on the link below: https://bhpho.to/3qHsEvT
